Alright by popular demand a EXPO style modular front bumper!

A lot of you guys have PM'd me about making a larger, more coverage type bumper. Taking inspiration from a few of my favorites (which will go unnamed) but carrying them into and molding around the modular concept I've started.

This bumper will offer more grill protection and also cover the AC dryer better.

Current bumper design 1 "Rock Crusher" is more of a minimalist type bumper system. Wings on this design will be wider and carry around the outside corners of the body and finish at the front tires.

Features (these may change depending on your suggestions)

1. Hi lift jack points on either side
2. 2 recovery points
3. Body color matching (either in paint or powder coat)

4. Integrated fog lights
5. Skid plate option
6. Winch cover plate (to keep the honest people honest)

Taking suggestions as well so if there's something you'd like to see or not see speak up and we'll discuss it here. As always my full intentions are to give you exactly what you want in a bumper and nothing you don't. I see no sense in putting forth all the effort needed on designing and manufacturing a bumper no one wants. Your input in welcomed and needed.

Also it will need a name so lets hear em. :worms:

Stay tuned.

Looking forward to this! While I like my ARB, something that looks better with my Slee rear bumper would be nice. Their bumper (and your current one) are too minimalist for me. Will the drier protection be something you add on or will all of them come with it? Mine still needs protection but there are plenty of people who have relocated it and wouldn't need it.

These all sound like good ideas, here are a few more that come to mind.
  1. Be able to accept an M12000 big body winch.
  2. wings that won't crumple
  3. option of full bull bar or center bull bar only.
  4. pre fab mount behind bumper for say a 5 gallon viair tank.

Nothing I make will ever "crumple" so you know.
I'll look into the Warn winch thing too.
there will be options for the bull bar
Air tank is a good idea for guys not running winches.

Hey Joey how come you never like nothing I post :flipoff2:

And why havent you bought any raffle tickets and donated yet?

Watching this thread closely. I am really digging the minimal design of your previous front bumper but probably will end up with something more substantial. I want to be able to hit a deer and not worry about anything but washing the pink mist off the truck. Sub'd.

A matching skid plate that bolts directly to the bumper is a big plus for me checking out bumpers right now.

From past experience a front skid plate on an 80 doesnt do much except add some cool bling factor:rolleyes:

I think a skid plate like what is shown on that ARB would result in warmer engine temperatures, IMHO.

I wouldn't make it arb big when comes to the wings, we can always move the AC dryer.

Very interested in how the bull bar will look, any conceptual drawings?
Ya I got 1 for ya... :flipoff2:

It was SC 80 and tested in AZ with and without skid plate and no change but as for SC temp the lights were removed during the summer time because they did make a difference.
