Group buy is open, check here for info:

I got Joel at Ellis Precision to make me a custom shifter knob for my 100 series transfer case. He has been making custom grab handles, battery clamps, and shifter knobs for the FJ Cruiser crowd for years.
The thread pattern is the same between the 100 and 80 series and also has the same shift pattern as well. So he only needs one design to suit two vehicles.

You can get them in a couple of different anodized colors as well.

If there is some interest in these, i will try and arrange a small group buy on them.
Just a heads up, Joel is a one man shop, goes to school, and works full time, so these things are not going to be ready to ship tomorrow.

Here are the pics of the one i just got in the mail.
Let me know if you are interested in them.

As for pricing, he said he could do a run of them for $49 plus ~$12 shipping from Canada.

On to the pics.

It looks to be engraved in the aluminum.

Very nice.

Could he do orange, green or blue?

What about options for the main gearshift? The leather on mine is getting chewed and it would be nice to get a matching set.

Great looking product.

I'm in :)

Is that a sticker? Or is the H-N-L painted on?

It is etched into the aluminum. About 1mm deep engraving i'd guess.

Correct!

I am in for two(pm'ed you last night), how many people do we need?

Will do. I will ask him how many folks minimum he'd like to have to make it worthwhile.

See this link here in order to see what anodized colors are available. Those colors with the exception of green are available.

I have looked into the main gear shift and it would be quite hard to replicate using a CNC machine with all of the holes and such for the O/D button. It could probably be done, but he would need a 100 series transmission shifter, and it would be a lot more pricey since he would essentially have to re-create it out of a CAD program. It'd be pricey basically.
You can contact him via his email address on the website and send him a picture or two of the transmission shifter and ask him if it would be possible.

Here is a link to his store on eBay where you can get a better look of what some of the custom anodized colors look like on the shifters and battery clamps.

This is a picture of one of his battery clamps for an FJC dual battery kit that i am getting for my dual battery hold down

What's wrong with the OEM one to spend $50?

Sorry, just asking?

put me down for one! black just like that one. And if he makes a matching one for the transmission shifter, which would be totally badass, i would be down for that too.

Well, depending on how much people want it to exactly match the OEM shifter, I'd be ok with him making a more straight-stalk FJ style shifter for us if that would be easier for him. Granted he'd still need a cutaway for the OD button but it could probably be done. It will all come down to price. I don't expect it to be super cheap, but as long as it's not outlandish then it would be cool. Maybe a discount for the pair....

I am interested.... But only a maybe right now. I would also love it if there was a set including the Auto Shifter.

i agree with fuzz. i would love to have one of those straight stalk shifters. my idea for the 2 buttons. have the top depress as the button that allows you to shift and an inset button on the side as the OD button. I think the 100 series and 80 series are the same so it would cover 2 vehicles.

I'll talk to him about it. But having taken apart the one on my 80, i don't think it would be something easy for him to also incorporate the button to switch gears.

how so? just out of curiosity

With the way the button is connected, and the way everything mounts, i don't foresee an easy way to create this out of a block of aluminum on a CNC machine.

If anyone of y'all can draw up a design that you think would work, let me know and i'll pass it along to him. I asked him about the trans shifter and waiting a response on if he thinks it would be possible.
