Today I headed back to Maritime Plastic for a test fit of the Tailgate Cargo Solution .... Designed in CAD and CNC cut.. We have a few adjustment to make and are going to switch from Starboard to SeaBoard .. the finish of Seaboard is more durable and less prone to scratches.

I had this made because the original designer .. Kevin of Wagongear hasn't had one available for months and there's no time table on his web site on when one might be available. I have not seen or touched the Wagongear product but I know his frame is metal and based on reviews is a fantastic product.
I will use Dynamat or a similar product to line the tailgate .
I searched and found Maritime Plastic in Annapolis Md...they work primarily with boats and have designed boat hatches for years. As of this moment it's in the design and test stage.. Using a CNC machine makes duplicating pretty easy and quick...Stay tuned

That's great news since this is a mod I've really wanted to add to my truck, and I think others would as well. Please keep us posted.

Have you talked to the TLC / Icon people? I'm assuming their prices would be sky high, though sailboat interiors are not cheap either, and with good reason - they're very tough. I sent Elvin at TLC an email will let you know if/what I hear back.

TLC does very little manufacturing
... They design things and have them manufactured
I not looking for a $1000 tailgate storage... Which is on the low end of what they might charge

I have (quickly) read through your thread this evening and think you have did a great job getting the truck together. I particularly liked how you reupholstered the interior. Using the marine vinyl was a nice touch. I would have not thought to use that material but think it turned out great. Keep us up to date on how its running for you.

Thanks... I can't remember where I purchased the antenna and I do not listen to the radio in my truck just music on my iphone. I did a quick search for flexible antenna's and found this along with others.... It was under $20 bucks and looks similar

That may be possible but I still need to finalize the design ... The company's CNC machine had to be updated which set them back with work that actually pays the bill...
This one off cost me $500.00 and I'll spend almost the same for the next one. By no means will this ever be a money maker so it may not be produced in quantity. That's probably why Kevin of Wagongear is making them per order if he's even doing that.

Checking out your build you have a 100 series? You might drop Kevin an email and ask him to make one... but checking his site ....Here's a note from his site and you can see .....its a none money maker and he states the 100 series is a more complicated build..

Things are too busy right now. WagonGear is just a hobby that doesn’t support anything other than itself, so it has to get cut first. Subscribe to the News feed to keep tabs on when products trickle back into stock.

One of the issues we're working out is once you cut the tailgate the metal that's left... about 4 inches has zero support....that's why Wagongear's outer frame is metal....Using Sea Board or other plastic's you're pretty limited to putting a lot of weight on the lid. So we are looking at two or three ways of supporting the ring to withstand ones body weight ...standing directly on the lid...and its a process because the shop is 50 miles away...
I'll keep you all posted....and hopefully you'll be able to order directly from the company

Add me to the list of interested folks for a lid. I'd like one that is split into two halves, if that means leaving the latches uncut and me finish it, that's fine too.
