New 4Runner wiper arms

I finally upgraded the wipers on my FJ60. It was getting just too difficult to find blades that fit the old style arms correctly.

I ordered from City Racer LLC as it was a complete kit . OEM Wiper Arms Upgrade Kit for Land Cruiser FJ60 FJ62

Once I got the kit I ordered pivot covers from Cruiser Corps. Wiper Pivot Cover - OEM - FJ60, FJ62, BJ 1980-1990

I was missing one and the other was all beat up. really looks nice. Now to test in the rain.

I did the same. It’s a HUGE improvement for the once or twice a year mine gets rained on.

X2 to the above, I also did the 80 series arm for the rear hatch, might as well do both ends.

Fresh springs and being able to use blades that fit the arms.

I'm looking at FJ80 arms to swap out on my FJ62, as I no longer trust the plain blade wipers. I was on I-75 last week when, in a torrential Florida rainstorm, the driver's side blade came off of the arm. I was fortunate that I had a good coat of Rain-X to help keep enough visibility to stay on the road until I got to the next exit. I was able to get a new arm that got me home there, but...

Yes, more pressure with bigger springs and more coverage with better blade attachment too.

Now to test in the rain.

You will be very happy. When I finally tested my new 4Runner setup in the rain, it was a significant improvement.( Did the rear wiper as well.)
With the new(used) wiper motor, it was so quiet and effective that I felt almost modern.

You use an 80 series land cruiser rear, not a 4Runner.
And yes, two drivers side 96-02 4Runner wiper arms for the front. I have 17” blades on mine.

Where did you get the linkage for the wiper set?

Did that with a new linkage as well as cleaning up the motor and ground. Wipers are so much better now.

I think City Racer was stocking them as a kit but probably any dealer can source the parts too

What about getting an entire motor and linkage assembly from a 4runner and swapping that over as well? I measured and the distance between the pivots is different but has anyone made it work?

The plastic bushing thing was on it's way out so I got a replacement from napa which needs modification. Havent completed it yet but if a newer 4runner assembly can be used I'd rather do that.
