Hey all!

I'm located here in the Northern Territory, but I am picking up a sweet 1994 KZJ78. But there are a few modifications I want done to it such as:
- EGT gauge install
- EGR delete
- Top mount intercooler
- Upgraded radiator
- 3 in exhaust

Does anyone know around Melbourne/Adelaide/Sydney or any other major Australian city that there is a workshop that is will to work on it?
I've been calling around but shops are unwilling to work on a motor especially if its not common rail? Which is news to me?

Thanks in advance!

Russell Coight is the man! Look him up for the joke..

but seriously, surely someone would do it for a price, Don Kyatt, Terrain Tamer, Guest 4wd specialists, Melbourne is far from you tho.

Radiator and exhaust shouldn't be too hard to do yourself with locals..one thing at a time..

What sort of workshops have you contacted? An EGT install is an auto electricians job, a 3 inch exhaust could be done at any exhaust shop. The other items may take some leg work from you. The radiator is not going to be easy as this model is not common here. The EGR delete is technically illegal, so you may have to do it yourself.

I have contacted Ultimate Diesel, Horse Power performance and another shop in which I was referred to by the other, they said they don't work on diesels that are not common rail, I'll try to look around a bit more, I was really just concerned with fabbing a custom 3in exhaust due to a lack of premade ones. I'll take a gander at exhaust shops!

Which is odd because there are still quite few around, like the 1HZ for example. In any case, handing it over to one shop to do it all is a recipe for overcharging.

Try some of the Australian facebook groups. They have contacts and people exchanging ideas and mods they have done. I know there are a few guys with prados in "Toyota Bundera Australia" you may even find a specific Prado group? Ultimate diesel and the like have spent tens of 100s $$ on machinery for modern vehicles with common rail so they won't be interested, but smaller guys tend to join these facebook groups and get work that way.
