Good evening,

1994 Prado kzj78 M/T

Looking for help on locating the power windows relay location. After the car sat threw winter, I had to replace the batteries and ever since then the power windows (all four) had stopped working. I tried a new master switch in the driver's door but still no luck. The power locks button works fine on both the old and new unit. I dropped the truck off at the shop and we're currently trying to find this relay or any diagrams that may be helpful. I'll share the documents I found on here but so far no luck. Thank you!

I could be wrong, but I hear a definite "click" from the master switch on the driver's arm rest when operating my windows. The relays are built into the switch (?).

Did you purchase an authentic ($300+) Toyota window master switch, or did you make my (dumb) mistake and buy the $65 Amazon/Ebay switch? I plugged the cheap switch in and the door locks worked fine. As soon as I tried the window switches..."POOF"...switch got toasted.

Fortunately, I was able to save my original switch and it works fine.

Hope this helps.

I purchased an $30 Amazon switch too. Was having the same issue though from both the OEM switch and Amazon one, while the door locks on both worked fine. Good to know though about the relay being built into the switch.. truck is currently at the mechanic's so I'll bring that up tomorrow. He thinks it's a ground fault after doing multiple tests on the wiring and fuses, possibly whichever animal built a home in the blower motor may have chewed a wire somewhere. Also, the 30A window fuse kept popping when he tried the power window button. I'm going in tomorrow so he can explain it better since I'm still fairly new at all this.

Thanks for your response and time!
