Need alternator or sub for 1989 FJ70

I have a 1989 FJ70 that needs a new alternator. Part number shows 27060-61060 in Megazip but $1625!! Geez - is there a rebuilt unit that can be used instead of this gold plated unit? I have a 3F 12v system. Thanks !!

Remove your alternator, have it sent to Mosley Motors in Memphis, TN and he will rebuild and send back good as new. @FJ60Cam

Also, your alternator is discontinued. It is no longer available from Toyota. No matter what a website says about availability.

Maybe a dumb question but is this not the same alternator as in a 3F powered FJ62 or maybe even from a 2F 40 or 60 ? If that is the case there should be plenty aftermarket alternatives.

I’m sure there is a reputable rebuild shop in Austin that can do a rebuild for under $200 bucks.

I’m not sure if the fj60 or 62 will work. TOYODIY shows the parts number made for the truck but nothing comes up under FJ62

This is from the allfourbyspares that it replaces I dont know which is which 27060-61090 27060-61060
Most of the part numbers in Australia for 3F are 45 55 or 65 amp for OEM (if they existed)
The aftermarket ones are 80 amp

This one fits all landcruiser with 3F from 85-92. Note dimensions at the bottom

I have a 3F... have upgraded my alternator based on FJ60/FJ80 alternatives available.

The Autozone alternator I grabbed was a Duralast, Part 14836.
Rockauto also has them... for a 1988-1991 Land Cruiser... different brand than Duralast, but same 80Amp upgrade.

Buyer Beware... these discount alternators are chincy Chicom stuff.
