UPDATE: I received an AC panel from England. It was out of a 05 Prado, it cost me $125.20 GBP off of Ebay and shipped to the states. The part number is 177600-3010.
My 06 GX should take the the later panel. However, I plugged it in and it operated everything. It did have an odd function to it though. The temp. controls were funky. The left controlled the right and the right controlled the left, but they worked. I think my blend flap servo on the right side is not doing so well. It started to grind. I ordered all of them because they're all the same age, so others will fail at some point.
I'm waiting on 2 second panel to arrive. It's out of an 09 Prado coming from Australia. In theory, this one should work perfectly in my GX. I will update when it shows up.

Great thread. I plan ,to install the Joying Android HU since I've used them on several other vehicles and like the quality.
I have a 2005 Mark Levinston Nav unit. I wanted to remove the factory CD changer that's in the glove box, and the factory GPS module under the seat since those won't be used/needed with the new HU. Just wanted to make sure removing both of those won't create any cascading issues when they're no longer plugged in?

Removing them will not create any issues. I removed both when I ran an Android headunit for a while, and there were no ill effects. With the OEM display removed, the OEM navigation and CD changer serve no function.
I have and 03 Prado with NAV and Pio amp and also wanted to try this but the only thing that's keeping me from actually starting is my bezel. Look at the picture and you'll see what I'm talking about. Mine is woodgrain and if I buy the HVAC controls to swap I will have to get black bezels and won't match with the rest of the interior.
Im interested in a unit & brackets with a soldered plug & play harness, MESSAGE ME!

Email him, he replies eventually. Once you contact him the process was straightforward and took a few months as I recall. Harness works great, the conversion is worth every single penny. Good luck.
I make harnesses in my spare time. There is not much free time right now because of my main job, I will solder the harnesses as soon as I have more time.
