I have this piece that is broken off at the top of my engine bay. It's a part of what I believe to be a control valve for the cooling system. I can't find the part number or name of it. Any ideas?

That is the heater control valve. The inlet nipple broke off. Common problem on these older 80 series.

Hmmm. I'll have one for sale here soon. I'm thinking $100 shipped.

Dude I'm sorry. I figured when there was 2 left it was you that got it. Oops

Nope, I left to make a pb&j and came back to read the thread. It's all good. I'll keep searching. On that college student budget

Wrong part number for his application.

87240-60170 is the correct part number.

I searched and saw that the 87240-60140 is for 91-94(?) and the 87240-60170 is for the 95-97, but can you tell me what the difference is? They look pretty similar from the outside, and I know the hoses are the same, but obviously there is a difference. I imagine they'd be interchangeable in an emergency?

You do realize that with shipping from Japan that the part is more expensive that Toyota list price here in the States from your dealer?

Probably not.
I scored an oem one last month for 30 plus 10 now I see it gone up a lot, my bad

I asked to cancel that one I ordered from the link.

I got an oem water control valve not long ago from @ranma21 in TX.

I bought them from my local dealer. Paid less and kept the money in my community. SUCKERS!!
