Whoa! The new windows with the square transom look like they will be huge!

I need to start replacing some windows (just the glass) and all the screens, too.

Part of the scope of work is fixing an issue with our front stoop. Water would run down into the basement when we had a good storm. By doing it now it will be waterproofed up the walls and siding will meet the stoop properly.

Well. Looky here.

The J channel is below the brick line. WTF? I guess it was a concrete porch and someone decided to just put a bunch of brick atop it right up against the siding.
These are the types of things that make you want to punch someone in the face. I know the original builder of this house died some years ago but I don’t know if he had this done or it was some PO project. :bang:

Refreshing to see you are living with house projects too. It has been years since since we spent anything on the shop. With the house projects completed/in-work/planned, it will be years before the shop gets anything beyond basic maintenance.
Enjoy the results

We are stoked to have this done. It was near the bottom of the long list of expensive improvements the property needed when we moved in. The last thing on the list I will not be doing myself is getting the long drive re-paved. That may keep another year or two.
After this we will focus back on some DIY landscape projects and a couple bathroom refreshes.

Congratulations to your lovely bride. This is a very short list and she probably merits the credit.
Thanks Larry. We are a team but I will certainly let her know. I am not sure she is excited as I to have this getting done but she is very pleased with the outcome and the contractors have been top notch. Family business here in Rome. The owner did a bunch of work in our office building over the last three years. He did not even require a deposit.

I am smiling at the situation similarity. A few years ago, Carolyn found an exceptional cabinet maker that has knocked out several projects with several more. Our only side track was Florida found him too.

Last fall, he was hired to build out the official office and conference room for the governor of Florida. It was project with a quick turn schedule, so our projects had to be put on hold to accommodate this. It was good opportunity for Alan and we weren't in a rush or inconvenienced so it was good. We did get to see pictures of the finished office and conference room. As with trail obstacles, the cell phone pictures probably did not do it justice.
