I like designing, building, fixing and doing stuff. That's why I don't take my rigs to the shop, shoot factory ammo, go out to eat....
Being able to fend for yourself shields you from all the parasites.

I like doing what I can, but I am cruely aware that I've got maybe 20 years left to live. Tops. If I can do something, I'll do it. If I can do my job and pay somebody to do theirs and have more free time, I'll do that.

Always a case by case scenario.

Take the 40 as an example. I'd be without a 40 for 10 years dicking around with it on my own going backwards half the time, or I can fork out a pile of money and have it in less than a year.

Went to a centerfire competition with the 40 and the camping trailer 4 hours away.

Didn't need it much, but that awning is a pretty awesome option to have. I still don't like it on the vehicle. The roof rack i feel kinda the same, but I ran out of room in the 40 for rifle cases, and strapping them to the roof worked just fine.

What blew me away though was I got 18mpg with this setup. I was driving relatively conservatively, but you're still at full throttle a lot trying to keep pace with other vehicles from a stop.

PRS style match. I shoot a 308 bolt action. Today was 300-900 yards across 8 different stages. I got 5th in my class, which I'm okay with. I haven't shot a centerfire match in over a year, and I haven't competed much lately at all. I usually shoot NRL22 just for cost reasons. I also do a pistol league, but I haven't done that this year at all

700 action? What chassis? Is it a requirement to shoot w/ a can? A few shooters I know bumped down into 6-6.5 territory and I know a couple guys shooting .284. Thanks, I’m always curious about the what, when or why when it comes to personal rigs.

Looked like a good time. 🏆

I run a 700 action and chassis. But there's no Remington parts in it.

Impact Precision action
Proof Research barrel
Bix n Andy trigger
Masterpiece Arms chassis.
Vortex Gen3 Razor HD optics in a Spuhr mount
I don't remember what suppressor I'm running.

Basically the same setup as my Vudoo that I do NRL22 with, just in a grown up caliber.

I run a can out of comfort. Especially when doing some of the team matches where you're right in the blast of the other guy's muzzle break all day, it just take its toll on you. I wouldn't recommend shooting 308 without hearing protection, but a few rounds isn't the end of the world either. Suppressors being on the ATF shıtlist is borderline retarded behavior.

6.5 Creedmore was popular for a bit. Everyone is looking for a hot flat round, to limit dialing and lessen flight times. 6GT, and 6BR are really common. There's a 22 Creedmore that I know nothing about. Those guys use those rounds to compete. I compete to practice killing people or bagging food, should the need arise. That's why I use 308. It's not ballistically the best round, but it hits hard. I bet every single farmhouse around here has 308 or 30-06 in it too.

I don't buy oddball calibers. But, I'm real tempted to do a 8.6BO SBR with a can on it. Swap it out for my useless 5.56 trunk gun.

I like to see other 40 owners that are also gun nuts. Nice rig, I love the 308. I am also a 6.5 fan but a rimfire is fun to own. I really need a Vudoo Sinister. It would fit nicely in the back of my 40.

Rimfire competition is a blast, and it doesn't cost a fortune to participate.

I wouldn't say I'm a gun nut, I really have very little knowledge. It's just a multipurpose tool good for entertainment, collecting game, and opening skulls if need be.

I've used my Vudoo squirrel hunting. It's pretty well miserable carrying that tank through the woods. It'd be nice to have one in a lighter stock that isn't as pointy, with a lighter optic. But I've got a couple of 10/22's that can do that duty just fine

My 308 weighs something stupid like 23# with the weight kit on it. I'm not carrying that pig anywhere i don't absolutely have to.

I am kinda slacking when it comes to fire arms I have a 9mm and my dad's 12 gauge and the barrel on that is super long. You'll see the barrel coming minutes before you'd see me coming. It is a blast to shoot though. Both of which are mainly target and skeet.

I can’t believe you guys like guns.

Well, WV isn’t like TX where you get a lever gun for just filling up at the TEXACO station. Here, you inherit a collection from your Grandmother like GOD intended. Pretty sure that’s in the scriptures.

What gets me is all these people taking their guns boating and then the lose them. Like come on don’t they know you can’t shoot fish?

Is a lever gun one of those super dangerous fully semi matic red Ryders?

Shots fired 🤷‍♀️ pew pew

Yes sir, one and the same. They had to ban the drop mags for them out in Cali, so kids wouldn’t put out their eyes accidentally.
