I think Jeremiah explained it perfectly well. I don’t think he made Karl seem like a bad customer and I don’t think Karl made Jeremiah sound like a bad refreshtorer.

Once I bought a KingSized Snickers Bar, I had to unwrap it myself. I don’t want to sound like I’m whining, but I feel like I know what these guys are going through.

Test fit the Gamiviti rack yesterday. Went on easily enough.

I bought the roof rack to add some storage for going to Alaska next year, but now it'll have to wait until the following year.

I didn't think I'd make it in the garage. But there's about a ¼" to spare. 🤣

I bought an awning to try out too. Depending on my level of ambition today, I'm going to get that mounted on the rack. Long term, I want to figure out how to mount it to the trailer.

Profits does incredible builds and obviously has a top notch reputation to protect. Every Landcruiser owner knows what it’s like to try to “refresh” one thing and have to leave something else that has to wait to be refreshed! Profits has unlimited money, tools and professional craftsmen to do the same job we do with limited money, limited time and some of us even have limited skills thrown in. I agree with their shop guys 100%. It sucks to not get to go all the way. Sogncab, you got the best of both worlds putting your own skills and cool ideas into this and having Proffitts do some of the other stuff. You have done a great job with your rig. A great build and one to be proud of. Good job.

I understand where he is coming from, but happy he did what you wanted him to do. Not every 40 needs to look the same. You use yours and it shows. It is great to have a "car show" car, but not nearly as fun to own and drive. Most people will be at least 20' away as they see you go by, and will not notice little details. I think it turned out well, and can not wait to check it out at SAS. I will make sure to point out the "waves" lol!

Honestly, I really enjoyed working on this one. I think the communication was by far the hardest part and that was what a lot of people got fed up with. It would have gone a lot more smoothly I think otherwise. I just bugged Karl directly lol. Made everything wayyyy smoother for me.

That's just it, mine gets used. I've put almost 3k miles on it since I got it back. And it's seen some trail use spice then as well. I never wanted a concourse vehicle, I wanted a usable driver and a reasonably capable off roader. The body was way worse than i thought or knew, so I'm glad this one got saved.

Us being friends goes a long ways to making it more fun too.

Alright brain trust. I need to come up with a clever way to mount the awning on the trailer that doesn't suck.

I think when the inevitable Alaska trip happens, I'll get one of the awnings like ARB makes, where it pulls straight out, and attach that to the roof rack.

Right now I'm kinda thinking 80-20 extrusions and their linear bearings to make something that can be raised. Though I don't know if there is room to do that in a single stage and get the height I want. Sitting on the cruiser, it's about 79" off the floor. It felt about right.

and you never minced words when you were talking about the work done what you had done and drew the line with. Never left anything to interpretation for anybody seeing the results.

Damn good Rig and damn fun to get out with you and others when possible.

Not helping with the brain trust thing... duh it is me. That awning lift is great idea.

I have a Roam Awning that pulls straight out - and you can get a room that zippers to the awning. The room is great when it is windy. Makes it stable.
