Here is the slow and arduous build of my 97 LX450.

It begins as a unassuming SUV that was used exclusively to tow horse trailers a few times a month and was babied her whole life.

This wouldn't do... So the running boards came off. Spacers were added as well as 35" MK2's.

Next up will be the Man a Fre 3inch front and 2 inch rear lift kit.

I've also ordered the HID interior lights from http://www.pfranleds.com/

Does anyone know of a good place or kit that I can order to replace the ripped leather on the drivers seat?

I need to put in new carpet too.

And a stereo, sub, new speakers, seperate amps

Bumpers, winch

This is going to get expensive fast...

Oh well. I plan to keep this truck forever so it's money well spent.

Before anyone else gets the chance to dissect every word and acronym, they're KM2s. Haha.

Nice choice in tire.

Will second the vote for Shane's leather. Out of all the changes mine has endured, get more compliments on the leather than any other.

You got me...

Just looked at that Metric website. That is happening immediately.

Those tires look nice! I need to get some soon.

I really like the tires too but the gas mileage is bad and they do make a decent amount of noise... I think the tires alone weigh 66 pounds each!

I always appreciate the look of a stock height FZJ80 with 35's. Looks like it should have come from the factory that way. Great looking rig. Keep up the good work

The land cruiser is already pretty bad on fuel haha. Do you know how much the 35" tires changed your fuel economy? I have read different things on this forum. It seems that some people have said that they increase the highway mpg on some trucks. I talked with a local guy in Merced California on 35" tires and he said he can't even get down to southern CA on one tank anymore.

I've never noticed much of a difference in fuel economy going from stock tires to 35s on any of my fzj80s. Moat of my driving is highways and country roads with the land cruisers though. I don't do much city driving with stop and go traffic.

Actually the mpg probably is a little better on the highway due to the lower rpm's but in the city I'd say I've definitely noticed a 3-4 mpg decrease. When you were at 12-10 to begin with that's a noticeable difference.

Finally got a chance to do a little off roading last weekend. She did pretty good!
