Finally, got the bumper fabbing done. Had to leave it for a few days, but got it finished today.
Instead of splitting the bumper, pulling the sides out, i made new wider sidehorns, almost 4" wider at each side.
I figured it would look better that way, lined up with the front.
Lucky for me, the frame width on a hilux is pretty much the same, so i modified the mounts to bolt under and on top of the frame, and reinforced the brackets from the shackle mounts to the frame mounts.
I'm sure this will hold up, plate steel is 4mm, brackets and inner frame of bumper is 5mm.
I cut the front body a few inches to get it up snug tight, and as close as possible.
The hilux corners had to come off to line it up.
A plasma cutter would help, lots of angles and pieces...
Underneath. Had problems with the nozzle on the mig, but got the welds decent.
Elbow grease on the corners.
Mounted, with primer and a black layer on the horns. The whole bumper needs a cleaning and new paint.
Tadaa!
I need to get some hilux lights, and the xenons mounted.
Thinking about tubing, but i need a bender.
Need to paint the aluminum winch cover too, like the rear bumper.
So i gave it a good cleaning, the whole truck.

Made the inside shine like never before! If i'm lucky, there is a road trip coming up in a week!
