I think i see more Toyotas than anything else in that group haha.

True, true. Thats what keeps the groups moving.

looks like a blast! love that 45 pickup as well. You are making it my goal to be able to do some snow wheelin next winter.

If you look at my earlier photos, you'll se more of the 45, friend of mine who drive all day just to get here in that beauty!

Happy snow wheeling, its fun and challenging, at no matter what tire size!

could you tell me where and what kind of seats you have in your cruiser. I have an 1984 bj60 and I want to buy a better seat than the original. Great pics. thanks Jim

i think I might have posted my question in the wrong place. I am looking to find out what kind of seats you have in your cruiser and where you bought them. I would like to replace mine. Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, the seats are cheap bucket seats from a norwegian napa-like store. Ideal for offroading as it is a nice side support all the way, but when driving for 5hours or more, i'm really missing better seats.
I'm gonna find myself something out of a junkyard, been looking at mid 90's Mercedes seats, but i'm open for anything.

I did some buildups with volvo 40 series seats.
Easy to use sliders and great seats, sitting perfect for a long haul and ajustable in every way (even fold down forward)

Thanks for the tip, sporty! Did you use seats from pre 2000 40 series? they popped up around 95' right?
Should be able to hunt down a few to test out. I really need to do something more comfy in the front.

Your 60 is a beast and sounds great. I spent an evening a couple weeks ago reading this thread. Good stuff.

Thanks, Eldorado!

Got to do some shackle stuff on the rear. was a bit saggy with load, so i added 1in lift with the shacles. A few hiccups, shackes were to narrow, bolts were 16mm, ome bushing is 18mm.
So i got 18x150 bolts, made them greaseable in a lathe, drilled out the shackles and made them wider. also had to cut of the bushings a few millimeters, to fit nice againtst the leaf. Lot of small s*** for a pair of shackles right?

A few more hours, and the paint on the shackles are good and I'll mount them up.
Cut and weld:

Looked like some good sloppy stuff, nice video.

hahah, indeed sloppy!

So i got the shackles on, and changed all the other bushings. feels better at first ride, i'll see how i like it after a while...

a few photos of the different shackles with new and old bushings... a lot of extra flex in the old bushings, at least! ;)

Did some spring cleaning... The "snorkel" for the heater was loose, and the drain for water was clogged with mud... strange...

All cleaned and sealed, and approved with the garden hose. good to go!

A lot of goo... and a close up of the engine... cracked... good to have a donor!

Then this should work... a bit slow to first upload to photobucket, go get tags, then post here...
Bumper soon done. Modding an old warn bumper, should be real solid!
