Thanks again, there is really some amazing landscape to be seen here. and i've only just seen the tip of the iceberg.
Was hoping to do some trophies this summer, but get stuck in some work, so i wont be able to do all the fun stuff.

Hopefully i can squeeze in some protection fabbing for the belly and sliders. that is pri one now.
Got the oil leaks all figured out, so now it's fab time next time.

Yea its one of the most beautiful countries i have traveled, i did a tour with my harley twice up to nordkap and back !! You realy can get lost in the cinery out there.

I pm you for the pictures of the turbo, hopefully i will travel your country with my hj60 soon.
This year my lady wants to go south (france)

Then the winch motor died...
A seal in the end of the motor was missing, so it pulled alot of mud and water...

Its replaced, damn expensive motor...
Pulled it all apart and sealed every bit of that winch.

Meanwhile i had to do it like this...yes i was really stuck there! steep...

So i wheeled for a day with a buddy in his cherokee...
His ps box pulled all the bolts trough the frame, so we made a campfire...
Got it trailfixed after three hours of swearing. glad we had hot food! ;)

And since i bugged him about the jeep, i jinxed it... popped all the studs, AGAIN!
Now i know the sound pretty good. Was in a tricky spot, probably 80% of the weight in rear passenger side...POP!

My buddys new hilux, almost stock, in good shape.
Ordered a s***load of upgrades for this one. lockers, all-pro and goodies.
He does not wrench, so it'll be a ongoing project at my place.

I'm thinking about routing the exhaust right into the center console, just so I can enjoy the sound!
All the backdraws would not bother me at all! Love wheeling this thing, even though it weights a ton more than most of my buddies rigs...!

Sent from my GT-I9000 using IH8MUD app.

Man do I love your rig:D

Have you considered running 7/16" allen head bolts instead of studs? I've seen a couple of guys fix their FF rears by doing that and have had good results.

That's it I'm moving to Norway.

Or maybe just stopping by for a vacation.

I'm just replacing them with oem stuff for now, but i'll definately will go by the machine shop this week to get some better bolts...
But would it technically be better with studs and nuts on the cones...? that way the cone is hugging the stud, but with bolts, the cone would be turned with the bolt.
Anyway, i'm probably overthinking this!

Agreed.... Moving to Norway as well. Nice pics.

You're welcome any time! Maybe we should have some sort of LC exchange program?
I really want to see some of the vast and amazing areas on your side of the pond too! Preferably trough a 60's window, but any cruiser would do! ;)

Now, im fiddling with the locker, moving it up front. seems the sleeve had a hard time, twisting the shaped grooves a bit... probably not fully engaged when i enganged the skinny pedal.

Is there any springs or something in the oem cable setup that lets the collar slide in when it is lined up properly(?)
Maybe my home made acuator control wire is to hard on the collar.

Any input appreciated. i'll just file the grooves down a bit, it still pops nice in when the splines line up.
Should have this figured when my longfield long spline inner arrives.

Did anyone say anything earlier about twisted splines, or am i paranoid...? Johnny?

Yeah, twisted splines on the axle shaft, not the locking collar.

The large splines on that collar don't look twisted to me, or is it just my eyes? The locking teeth are chamfered on the upper edges stock, just as you show there. The teeth look a bit marred as if you stepped on it with before it was fully locked, but it should be fine if you file down the edges.

As for springs in the stock setup, there are none, just a detent ball in the shifting shaft. Did you retain that detent ball?

Right, should be good when filed. would probably pop easier in.
The detent ball is there (last time i checked...) , now when i have it out, i'll take off that lid where the sensor sits close to the ball, and solder onto those cables. that would give me a light when its fully engaged! Just waiting for inner axles now.

Should probably be a big green light! ;)

anyway, slapped the rig together again, now with two extra oem 7mm shear pins on the hub in the rear. Just added what i had laying, probably gonna drill up to 4 pins at a larger diamerter as soon as i get the time.

This weekend we're gonna rec some new trails, in a new area. Legal and all, mixed terrain. cant wait!

Right now i'm wheeling more than wrenching, witch i guess is good!

Slapped together a skid, as the terrain we were going into was alot of ruts and stones. Could have bent it another inch up at the rear, behind the drain plug, but right now it is a finger from the drain plug on the PTO gear box.
I call it model one:

Anywhore, it did serve its purpuse!

Anywhore:lol: I think you meant anyhoo, or anyway.

Skid plate looks beefy. What material did you use, 5mm?
