Yup, but I'm still not finished.
It's originally a warn for the minis, so i need to make it wider and I'll probably add some tubing to protect the lights.
Next is to move the pto winch behind the rear axle.

That's something I've got to do as well.

Yeah, me too - I've taken to lifting the passenger wiper off the glass and leaving it there so the strain isn't as great as it does it's pass. At least I know how to pull it down and put it back together now - the big trick was that the backing plate is the earth for the motor. If you don't have it touching metal, the wiper won't drive - drove me mad while trying to test it and couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong....

NQ, thats funny! When i swapped the donor in, it would not get to the engine stop point...

Anyway, here's some progress. Minor!

Finally, got the bumper fabbing done. Had to leave it for a few days, but got it finished today.
Instead of splitting the bumper, pulling the sides out, i made new wider sidehorns, almost 4" wider at each side.
I figured it would look better that way, lined up with the front.
Lucky for me, the frame width on a hilux is pretty much the same, so i modified the mounts to bolt under and on top of the frame, and reinforced the brackets from the shackle mounts to the frame mounts.

I'm sure this will hold up, plate steel is 4mm, brackets and inner frame of bumper is 5mm.

I cut the front body a few inches to get it up snug tight, and as close as possible.
The hilux corners had to come off to line it up.

A plasma cutter would help, lots of angles and pieces...

Underneath. Had problems with the nozzle on the mig, but got the welds decent.

Elbow grease on the corners.

Mounted, with primer and a black layer on the horns. The whole bumper needs a cleaning and new paint.

Tadaa!
I need to get some hilux lights, and the xenons mounted.
Thinking about tubing, but i need a bender.
Need to paint the aluminum winch cover too, like the rear bumper.

So i gave it a good cleaning, the whole truck. :princess: Made the inside shine like never before! If i'm lucky, there is a road trip coming up in a week! ;)

Your wagon looks evil. I like it. :flipoff2:

Beautiful. Glad to see ya finished it.

yup... still lots to do with it... first, the tubing to protect the blinkers and lights...
Modifying, thinking, and so on.

still lots to do, like adding reinforcements like the arb with a tube down on the outer edge. and then, and then, and then...
To be continued...

well... the mig died on me... so NOT to be continued in a while... dammit, there goes sliders, winch mods, belly protection and so on. Spare parts for the Mig would cost as much as a new one.
Research time!

what kind of welder do you have and whats broken? I am a professional independent welder and a buddy of me builds welders.
Maby i can send you parts from the netherlands?
I know machinery is more expensive in the north then over here

I looked up on parts to get this one up to shape. I'll try to get the terms right here. ;)

The Mig is a CEM 210amp S model. Early 90's.
By talking to the distributor, we concluded the inverter is dead. Makes that buzzing sound when i pull the trigger.
This part, plus a new handle (witch need a "new style" converter kit to be mounted on my dinosaur) and a set of nozzles and rollers, that'll rob me for the same amount of money i could put into a new 180 or 200 amp Kemmpi.

So, Sporty, if you got dinosaur parts for my old CEM, i'd love some help! ;)
I think it goes by the name CEMont from Telwin, at least i've seen identical machines from them..

Here's a photo:

That s real antique, model of the mid 80s and a real badge engineerd machine sold as telwin, migatronic, electro beckum, mec and a lot of others. If the inverter is dead the hole machine is dead. Most of these welders are allready scraped over here because of parts availability and poweruse!! I prefer ESAB above Kemppi for endurance, my oldest and most used is a LKA 180 wich i use and abuse for over 20 years. Wear out 2 kemppi s in the same period.

Being in my buddy s shop today but nothing!! He told me its a trafo (spool) machine not an inverter and the only chance he gives you to look for an old stickwelder and use the trafo:eek:!
Or get the original rewound but he would not spend time or mony on that machine, next out wold be the wiredrive, gasrelay and mainrelay. It al will set you back more than a B brand welder like a cebora cost.

I myself would go for a 2nd hand A brand like a Esab or Kemppi. You kan buy parts for these machines for eternety

Hmm... i'll check it out, but i dont wanna mess up the stick welder too, i need to have at least one welding tool at all times.

I'll check if someone can respool it, but i'll eventually end up with a esab, kemppi or Lincoln.
Most annoying is that it sets my plans back, quite a bit...

Thanks for the inputs, Sporty!

New to me 250 Migatronic, hopefully i'll get the winch mounted today. 24v 9000i ComeUp.

Did a full service on oils, bearings and grease.
Been on the road alot lately, spent a few nights in the rig.

Midnight sun... in the forest...

Jealous of that view TLC, I haven't seen my rig in a month and I'm desperate to take it for a run anywhere at the moment. Hopefully back home this coming weekend.

That first photo of the midnight sun is a great shot too!!!
