Yep , everything is ok ... But I should have rebuilt it before .... Just ordered a Kit from Radd cruisers in BC ... Won't go fishing on my first vacation week end ... But I should be able on the second one

Bugger.. sometimes projects just explode in scope dont they! Thankfully the H55F is well supported with parts/documentation.

I now wonder If im doing thetransfer case also .... Didnt order the kit for it but damn Im getting stressed about it and low on money ...
I have 3 Tcases laying around so at least one should be fine in the worse case scenario... I wonder if I can put my vacuum actuator on a regular t case tho because all the others I have are manual Tranfer case. Might as well just convert it to manual ...
Anyway im open to Opinions on it .... My deception level is pretty high considering all the work it implies

I would rather have a tight strong t case and a sloppy transmission. The rebuild kit isn’t really THAT expensive and if you’re going into the transmission you HAVE to go into the t case anyway. All you’ll have to do is press bearings in and out and reseal it. To skip it after all this work would be pretty silly. It’s not like it’s a $2500 job. More like $250. yeah , I might just put it on credit to have it running ASAP.... Anyway , like you said I have to open it so I will inspect it before getting to conclusions...
Still not sure what is causing the noise ... bearings in the transmission for sure but I dont think its only that ... Anyway I will open it all and see.

OK! today was a bit of a relief .... the bearing howling don't stress me much but there was a weird grinding sound that I couldn't find ... only when rolling , worst at low speed and erratic at high speed ....
speedo cable wasn't even tight and the sound came from there (FML....) thx to this forum ... someone had the same issue a while ago

I will go fishing with the truck, noisy bearing don't bother me much compared to what the cable was doing (quite insane actually) . Plus I will save a little more and do the transfer case overhaul at the same time and have a whole new drivetrain.
So tonight I put the interior back in and tomorrow im going to work in my noisy truck.

Yess well everything was still there.I only verified what I could have done wrong and found about the speedometer cable ... The howling of the bearings is still there ... But much less stressful than the sound that the cable made 
Stupid question.. did you check the fluid levels in the trans and transfer?

Yes I changed everything for new oil. Bearing are spotted from a long storage probably ... The sound is much lower too!
I'm amazed how quickly you brought this together.. well done.

Very noisy .... But running , shift good too. Better when the transmission is hot.
Idle is a bit high , but the RPM is not working ... Not sure why
probably the sensor. I will get it fixed and tweak the fuel pump after.

Fixed the RPM sensor that was faulty ... Wires were bent to break so I sandblasted the epoxy resin and soldered new wires to the sensor.
A new one cost over 200$ ... Mine was already not working so I figured out I would give a chance to my DIY fix ,
Soldered new wires and buried them in fresh epoxy and it work !
I will now be able to adjust my Idle and while at it remove the kickdown wire bracket left from the Automatic setup.
