Ka'ena Point and West side Beaches~

It was sort of a misty morning at the end of the pavement and trailhead to Ka'ena Point. The trail winds along a rugged coastline with stunning vistas along the way.

But as is the norm in Hawaii (at least on the Westside), the showers quickly passed and the sun lit up the landscape.

Along ther trail there are great views of the rugged coastline and Wai'anae Mountains.

Also plenty of places to stop and take in the view.

This part of the trail was a perfect intro to my first time taking my LC off-road.

Nice.

Mud calls that bumper guard a DM (Damage Multiplier).

After being tempted to stop off at Yokahama Bay, Makua, and Makaha Beach....decided on Pokai Bay to enjoy the sun.

And to round out the day, a stop at my favorite Mexican restaurant, El Mariachi, in Kapolei.

Altough exhausted, it's the perfect way to end a great day of trails, sun and making memories.

Till next time!

Beautiful pictures, the blue of the ocean with the white land cruiser. Ending the day with good Mexican food seems to be a habit with most around here too.

You guys shut up about the old truck! GD! :flipoff2:

There is a thread for that, This is a Hawaiian adventures thread! Love it! I was in Hawaii back in 1999-2000, but I didn't have a cruiser or a local to find all the great spots!

Keep the adventures coming Jen!

great pics

don't be surprised if this thread gets moved, though - unless it has 80 tech in it, the more appropriate place for this thread is in the Trails/Runs/Expeditions forum - or the Hawaiian club forum

hopefully, it won't be moved to Chat

You mean like the camping thread... or the dog thread.

Not tech, but pic #2 is especially cute FWIW.

Hawaii and Mexican food, I am in!

Wow, that looks like the best day ever! Great views, the 80, and some awesome mexican food to finish things off. Thanks for the pics!

I was stationed in Hawaii in the late 80's early 90's, good memories thanks for sharing.

My mom lives on the big island. I tried to convince her to get a 80 series, but she opted for something that gets mileage and ended up with a '03 4Runner instead. I found it locally stateside, then lifted it 3" and put some 33's under it. Since my wife and i own a sign shop, we also put on some Hawaiian styled decals for her.
Now she's shipping it back to the big island so she can enjoy her favorite remote camp spot, Makalawena beach.

Not sure which island you cruise upon but I was on Kona recently and enjoyed it. The snorkeling rocks and I can only imagine the cool spots you find in your cruiser.
Are you into selfies or is the lady your friend???? :)

I'm on Oahu. The lady is me. I guess I am into selfies, but only if there is no one else to take the photo at the time.
