Part 1 of 3 (maybe)
A few of us southerners went on a short trip up to Windrock this past weekend to make up for my pussified wheeling attempt at Chocco a month or so ago. And as it turns out this truck isn't nearly as scary after you learn its limits... who'd a thought haha. I found myself actively looking for the biggest rocks, the hardest lines on "black" trails (which weren't exactly that that difficult), and the most cross axley ruts. And to top it all off, the weather was perfect and the leaves were BEAUTIFUL.

@Sam Stewart got to bring out his newest truck, his fast-as-s*** V8 4th gen. He's got big plans for it, but that doesn't stop him from doing a little pre completed thrashing. This wasn't even one of the more difficult trails we rode, but the side by side group that passed us coming down, could hardly believe the 4runner was making it up!

Then it was my turn..

This was one of Dana's first times out, and we definitely took him up some things i sure wouldn't have tried so soon hehe (pictures to come later). but he did really well and didn't damage anything.

Will (@mhslacrosse22) in his superbly built FJ heading up first so that he can take some shots of the rest of the crew from above (will post his pictures at the end)

Caught back up and at it again.

Jordan (@80offroad), a ridiculously nice guy, took his basically stock FJ (rear locker and 33s) up everything i did and more. He isn't afraid to push that thing to its limits, because hey... "ITS A TOYOTA!"

Perty treees!

Part 2 of 3 (probably)
Cant remember this trail but it was pretty "fun" for some. Front and rear lockers and 37s make everything a walk in the park now now (gotta just go open/open or just rear from now on to make things more exciting).

Will took the slippery, off camber left line

As did Sam

Aidan (@pandathrust), my little brother, did really well too. He's been my passenger enough time to learn what he is and isn't supposed to do and i really didn't feel like i needed to worry about him destroying his truck too much lol.

"Big Bitch" chugging on up

Jordan took the rockier line and didn't pay any mind to dragging and 4 wheel burnouts,

Bumper end caps are for sissies anyway...

Dana had the most fun over here. Definitely different that what he was used to, but I'm sure he'll get there. Just gotta listen to your spotter and realize all that scraping aint gonna hurt anything haha. That took me a long time to figure out!

MOAR PRETTY COLORS!

The group (minus Jordan who needed to head back to camp).

We did full day of wheeling, and by 6 o clock i was beat... I worked the night before and hand slept since 11am the previous day... But we did drive up for the day and were gonna get our moneys worth SLEEP BE DAMNED!!!! By the time we arrived back at camp around 9, i had dozed off a few times, almost knocked my passenger side mirror off on a tree (because sleeping...), and nearly drove off the side of the mountain via an off camber rain washout!! (also because sleeping lol)

Sunday morning...
We all looked over our trucks making sure no one had anything that would stop them from making it home.
I believe the worst of it was a leaky seal between the rear third and axle housing on Jordan's cruiser, but that wasn't really an issue. Aidan also decided to break my air compressor as well while airing up... not quite sure what happened, I've probably aired up fewer that 20 tires with that thing... Keep forgetting to call ARB, gotta do that today.

Part 4 of 3 (s***)

Im still working on making that money for my brake upgrade... i broke down and just bought a new iPhone the other day (if you saw my old taped up 4s, you know why lol) so that put me back a week or so in the funds department. But being a sheep and taking a bite of that Apple is more important that stopping distance... even though it feels pretty tight right now for some reason.

that looks like an epic trip! thanks for posting
duuuuuude, I'm totally jealous. Thanks for the pics.
What..... NO BUMPER CARNAGE??
Looks like a great trip. I'm stealing a few pics for my TT album.
J
I did my best to find something to hit it on, but i failed lol. And if they're some of Will's shoot me a PM on which ones just so i can make sure its all good with him, but it shouldn't be a problem. If they're some of mine, go for it!
Sweet. Thats what its all about right there.

Thanks guys :) For a one day trip to Windrock, it was about as good as it could be. I cannot wait for GSMTR 2015 so that i can spend up to a week up there and its 70,000+ acres! Takes days to fully appreciate this place, one day is a huge tease. Such a fun time though.

One of the crappy little light bars i got off ebay arrived today. Don't really know anything about this one other than its 14", the guys sold like a million, and he had good reviews, so i figured for $50, why not.

Gonna mount it under the tire carrier hoop to be used "strictly for lighting up camp"... Definitely not blinding tailgaters.... ;)
One problem, the feet are too tall, so I'm gonna need to bend some plate tomorrow to make much shorter ones.

It'll look like this when finished.

I believe the other one should get here early next week :)

Love it, that should light up a fair area

Thanks maat! I hope so. Always liked the output of LEDs, just never really liked the look of the "bar" design. Im more of a round light kind of guy... guess ill just gave to order some of those ARB LEDs or those Vision X Cannons $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

P, is that a spot/flood combo or a single spot?

J
Actually, each individual light is more and more angled so that each one is pointed directly at the driverside headrest of the BMW driving with its hood underneath my rear bumper... Theres also this great "bro dozer" setting specifically for the sky jacked, bed stacked, tow mirrors folded out Dodge Ram... Want the link???

...Yeah its all spot.

LED installs mean nothing without pics showing how much light they throw :flipoff2:

Haha yeah yeah I'll try and get the front one installed soon. I'm probably gonna send the 14" back and find another. The lights on it look weird as hell, not like any CREE lights I've ever seen haha.

The front is a little 25" curved spot/flood for the bumper. Should work pretty well. Not sure if it looks right on a 60 though.
