That was my favorite too! Just wish there wasn't all that crap around underneath haha. But it also looks the bumper lowered the rear enough to level out the truck!

Package just arrived
During the bumper's journey from Wyoming to Georgia, the brass bushings developed cracks from the extremely gentle shippers. I was a little hesitant to use them, so i told Mr. Jason.
He was extremely helpful and got these replacements out to me immediately no questions asked.
His customer service is like that really smart kid in class that aces everything and fxxxs up the curve for everyone else.

I figure now is a good time to talk about my next project... BRAKES! Not as sexy as that rear bumper, but probably a little more important (in my parents eyes). In my opinion, Adding the 37s was great for my brakes, it gave me ABS (as in my wheels don't lock up anymore)... Just kidding, my brakes will definitely do the job, but id like them to work better.
So I got in touch with Onur last night and he got me a quote on the shebang... new 80 series non-ABS master cylinder, 4 new calipers, 4 new rotors, pads, new rear brake shoe tensioner springs, and all new brake hoses (probably don't need), and a TON of other part numbers i still need to look up just to see what they are. I should be able to go down to Lithonia in the next month or so to visit, pick up all my s***, and "drool over an H55F while [Im there]"... cuz Onur's one sadistic a****** lol!!
Anyone have any suggestions on things i may want to look at while I'm in there?

You bought new 60 series calipers?! Why not upgrade to 4Runner or TLC?

Calm down. I haven't bought anything yet. I don't see a need to "upgrade" brakes if 60 series calipers will lock the front wheels up. Especially to those ridiculous TLC things lol. Even I have a limit to wasting money.

Guess I'm getting some front 4 runner calipers. Second gen I'm guessing? Does year matter?

. I just try to treat my customers like I'd want to be treated... I make time in my day for post office runs and of course being addicted to this forum makes it easy to stay in contact with people. Communication is everything to me... Thanks guys

Second gen v6 calipers. You will need matching pads and hardware. You will have to trim the backing plates back a bit but nothing dramatic. Other than that they bolt right up.

I did 2nd gen 4 runner callipers, a T100 master (larger bore).
I replaced pads, rotors, and did all new stuff in the rear as well.
Stopped great with 37's and a portly 2800kg fully loaded to the nutz curb weight. (thats 6173lbs)
There is a thread on swapping new Tundra brake stuff. I think Baxter did it. Have you seen it?

Your truck is looking great RB. I've been keenly interested in your and The Phoenician's build threads with the TT bumper installs.
When considering all new brakes, I've been looking at the Tundy conversion slowandsteady suggested as well. I can't seem to find Baxter's build thread, it is a gem, but here is the link to the FROR brake kit:

I've been hoping someone else would start a thread about their experiences but it hasn't happened yet and I'm not at the decision stage for my current project. Baxter seems to have drifted away from posting updates.
The 4 Runner caliper upgrade is a good one. I kept the OEM master and booster on my 60 and have had no troubles with pedal travel.
I look forward to your next postings.

Thanks for the link Mike! looks like a pretty straightforward swap. I cut the backing plates off entirely a while back so no problems there.
What beer are yall drinking at ACC these days? i do believe i owe many haha!

Thanks slowandsteady, I was hoping someone who's had a relatively similar truck would give there input. Seeing that it stopped such a heavy beast definitely make me feel pretty good about this. And i believe the master cylinder I'm going with (80 series, non abs model) has a larger bore as well. It had discs in the rear so i can't imagine it having the same as the 60 series.
Yep, can't go wrong with Jason's stuff. He'll make you feel like the only customer and really more like a friend. Its pretty cool
I remember seeing @The Phoenician posting up about possibly doing the tundra conversion, but then deciding against it. Ill probably just do the 4 runner brake swap as well considering how many people have done it and how well it work. But if you decide to do it, Im quite sure it will be the "go-to" thread for the swap considering how detailed your 60's thread is!

Spent all Saturday watching Aidan fix the rear bumper up the way i wanted it. I didn't do the quarter guards unfortunately. It would've taken way too long and it wouldn't have worked or looked very good.
Instead, we added small wing extensions to the backside of the bumper to give it some depth. I think Aidan did a freaking awesome job lining up the metal and making them look like a single piece, instead of multiple pieces welded together. He's getting really great at fabricating.
So we cut out the pieces, got them into place...
Then added the top rounded piece...
And gussetted the insides of the wings for strength and the bumper shell to keep it from caving in on itself...
Then ground the welds down to make it look nice pretty...
Then, yesterday, rattle canned it black!!!!!! Don't worry PC haters, this is only temporary lol. Got a wheeling trip in a couple weeks and it needs paint for that. I used krylon satin black, but i don't really like it very much. Too dull.
Its a nice 15 foot paint job.
Lifting that tire fawking sux. Needs a hub to slide onto so that Im not trying to line the tire up and instead pushing the bolts out the back. I know i have a bunch of spare wheel studs somewhere in my garage that ill weld to the tire resting plate... the nuts that came are doing a real number on the rim, they really needed to be conical shaped.
Quick change of venue.. And i never realized how many millions of tons of Pb it took to balance these things. Square as hell hahaha.
