well regardless of what Mike said your rear suspension setup needs a little attention if you want to get any flex out of it. No biggie, just move your rear hangers forward about 3 inches and you'll actually use some of those 12" travel shocks. Your bumps should be limiting your uptravel, I'll assume Mike said your springs are limiting axle travel before the shocks have a chance to bottom out because with 8" to the bumps and 4.5" of shock left, something has to.

Front looks good, you definitely have room for 35s.

do this for giggles, measure how much shaft is showing under full compression and how much is showing under maximum droop. the delta will be your suspension travel, with 12" travel shocks you would probably like that number to be at least 10 or 11.

Thanks! I think you've got me beat on flex though... And most other things lol

Nah man, that's not what it's all about. This hobby is about learning how your truck works, then modifying and upgrading to better suit your needs, all while having a blast. In that respect, you're doing just as well as I am :grinpimp:

I need to get down to one of the events down by your way so I can check your truck out!

^yeah what that guy said. Everyone starts somewhere, the woody is friggin titties on beer already just make sure you're always getting what your after.

I like that way of looking at it :) I am having a very good time with this thing. I think this will be the end of the suspension mods for a looooong time. SOA, 1 tons, and a diesel swap are all something i want to do, but i got a lot of skills (and $$$) to acquire first. Im blown away by the stuff a lot of the mudders can dream up and fabricate.

Thanks! im looking into the little shackle angle and shock tweaks youve shown me, but will probably be rolling like this for a while until i get back on the bank's good side . And I can tell you know a good amount about the suspension in these trucks from experience (or else you wouldnt be putting 37s on an SUA truck like a badass!), but the fellows at ACC aren't half bad either, so i wouldn't count out what Mike says too quickly. If anythings happens, im sure theyll try their hardest to help me make it right

Bump!
Patrick have you flexed out the Woody yet so that the passenger front is drooped? The pics on the forklift all have it stuffed, not drooped. I'm wondering how close your front driveshaft is to slipping out, if any at all. Mine sure did, had to get the female side of the DS extended 2" IIRC.

Where's the fxxxing shoes?

I haven't flexed it since then, but I did have it at full droop right after the install and surprisingly neither driveshaft appears to need lengthening. I'm out of town at the moment, so when I get back home and install the brake lines ill go back over everything and make sure no immediate money needs to be spent lol.

And the tires I'm working on. The smart choice is a 35x12.50. I'm dumb, so i want something very difficult to find, tall and skinny, heavy, and in a 16" rim... If I can't find those relatively soon, I'll just sell the current toyos to one the people that have contacted me and get some new 35s. I'm not gonna lie though, I do love how nothing rubs anywhere. But the Cali truck breh look has got to go haha.

Little update: Havent done much to the woody since i havent been offroad in a few months. Did some few FS roads up in north GA, but we met a Nissan leaf on the trails so cant really call that wheeling LOL.

Still havent flexed it much, since im lazy. And sadly, i dont think ill have 35s this year. Sorry Danny :flipoff2:

I did replace the bell cranks, so now i have a parking brake, but i also have and inner axle leak on the rear driver side so that brake doesnt really brake... like at all.

But tomorrow (Since im an a******), Ill post a few pictures and y'all will see why i dont give a damn about that leaky inner axle seal... i got something pretty cool that i think y'all will appreciate

Patrick

Drivetrain swap to a centered rear axle? Or maybe some new axle assemblies with lockers? (Can't recall if you have any haha)

Edit: I'm dumb

Built like a true college kid.

Your 62 will look like my 40 before you know it.

Maybe you're getting a five speed? That would be neat.

Bring it. I hope your planing to come to GMP in a couple of weeks.

Better than a 5 speed... Ok, coolness factor and funness tied with a 5 speed.

No it's a roof rack with 15 Jerry cans and a rooftop tent... So I'll have to move this build to expedition portal exclusively lol.

Just kidding

That would be fun. He would definetly be floating down the highway. ;)
