Awsome day it was guys, made me wish I hadn't sold my FZJ80. Like I told ya Patrick ALOT of people get stuck in that hole (including me haha.. deeper and more rutted out than it looks). But seriously you've got to have one of the best looking (simply built) 60's I've seen man

Oh stop it, you're making me blush haha. But really, thanks. Means a lot, if I ever have to sell, you're first in line. You may be waiting for a very long time though ;)

If you remember Stefon showed us a part of the trail that we didn't ride because it was muddy and deep? I, fearlessly (haha), went down and got stuck in that mess.

better safe than sorry is what i go by, as long as you got out with no damage to the car!
im tagging along next time, and ill try and bring asher!

Like Sam said, ya gotta find your limits somehow..

Just ordered a little bling for the cruiser that should arrive sometime next week hopefully!!
Sadly, its not a dope set of 28" rims or a chromed-out ARB bullbar. You'll just have to wait and see :p
ill do a small right up on the install (even though everyone can probably do it haha) since i haven't really seen any 62 specific threads on the topic.

What?!? Stefon you sold your 80? Aw man I wanted to see it in action. I guess I'm going to have to fill the 80 void. Lol Patrick that's bad ass dude, a Hummer and a REALLY long F-250 out on the trail, talk about a full-size invasion. And that's also awesome that you got your parents on to wheeling. My dad wants to get a Samurai and swap a Jetta diesel into it and run it on bio and up on some 42's. Basically the same as the Green Samurai in Xtreme 4x4. But for now we got the 80 and soon the Montero will be trail worthy when I replace the coil pack.

Did you use any special primer or paint to go directly to the plastic. How did you take the chrome off of the grill? Was the chrome flaking off at all? Thanks, Ed

That montero is Gorgeous and the future samurai is gonna be insane

The chrome was flaking off badly (only about 60% remained). I did my best to sand it all off (very small patches wouldn't come off) with ,iirc, 150 grit sandpaper. then pressure washed it to get all the dust and crap off it. i used some rustoleum primer, sanded that smooth, then 2-3 coats of rustoleum "high heat" paint. There may be some better options out there, but I've been pretty happy with it so far.

Robust, I think I pasted you one day on paces ferry. I was in the black 80. I think I was lifted but no wheels at the time

Nice rig. Those tires look mean. I want...

Thanks a lot dd, I'm actually dreading looking at your build because i know theres going to be something i MUST have but don't have the $$$ for hahaha :)

yeah man we have a house over in smyrna !! ill keep a look out for your lifted 80. And you need to come wheeling with us sometime if you're free a weekend.

Haha yeah we were filling up really early for nice day of wheeling down south of Atlanta. You'll need to join in next time! We heard you honk and Asher says "that LX had an ARB!" We were wondering who it was, good to see its a fellow mudder. And your Lexus looked really sharp as well :)

Thought I would post up some glam shots. Forgot you might not have these :).

Went to Durhamtown with KingKong and met up with some of the other "Ga Cruisers" members.

Asher's 80 cruisin'

Lurking in the background as Asher flawlessly falls down the hill hehe.
(We shook 2 old CJs and a built JK off our tails by going down this trail haha)

Sexy Flexy!!

Asher makes it without incident, so i proceed.

making sure theres no damage after lightly tapping the wall with the 62's HUGE badonkadonk. Alls well.

I NEED LOCKERS!!! (Me inspecting the truck after hearing a not so nice sound, but everything was just dandy)

Thank God Asher has a winch, i don't think the hummer or the f250 would fit down there...

AWWWW YEAHHH!!!!!!!

AWWWW NOO!!!!!
I kinda felt a little like 2000UZJ... Hahaha just kidding, Nick.

I guess i won't be needing those bumper end caps...but i will be needing a new 4x4 labs bumper :D

After riding down "Grand Canyon".

After being lost for 45 minutes, Asher and I find the Ga Cruisers hiding over in the rock crawling section. so we do a bit of our own "pussy rock crawing"...
the Ga cruisers were not impressed lol.

4xsteve and his green mini "the gecko" are fearless, he will make it up an obstacle no matter the cost. this time it cost him a sheared front leaf, no matter though, with the help of a bungie cord and some rope, the axle was held in place and he could make his way back to the big rig. AWESOME!!

That 40 back there is probably the coolest buggy 40 I've seen. I WANT!!

I had a grand old time, even though i locked my keys in the truck (engine still running) in the heavy rain like a dumbass and had to have a some nice guy pry my door open a couple centimeters with a crowbar and stick a metal pole thing in the gap and scratch up my steering wheel, but at least he was able to roll the automatic window down. (I tried telling my little brother i left my truck on so that he would be able to roll down the window, he called BS haha). can't wait to get back on the trails.

And if anyone else goes to D town, keep your eyes peeled for those 3 jeeps, we didn't see them for the rest of the day after we parted ways, so i can only assume they are still lost in park 1 somewhere hahahaha.

Nice trails! Getting stuck is so funny: you think it has been enough and the truck thinks it is just beginning :D
Every car I have had has a hidden spare key and 5 liters of extra fuel. (I just hate to close a door and the moment you hear the clack you realise its locked... and fuel; one time without has cured me forever)

Definitely and awesome weekend :steer:. Lol but the trail map leaves much to be desired :o. And we really need to go back down Grand Canyon again, and hit up Slippery Nipple, well we really need to actually wheel park 2 , but we will save it for when Fahed comes ;p.
