Good times, Patrick, it was fun getting to know you.

And I'd like to personally thank your rear end for weighing down the 40! I surely would have flopped right over in front of everyone if not for you being there with me.

Its no problem, i would love to weigh down the passenger side again sometime lol. i didnt even know it was that big a deal when we finally got that rear tire waaaaay up there because you were keeping such a cool head, i just thought it was the norm for you crazy 40 drivers

Ahh, good times... I don't even remember how this happened

Looks a bit like Peter Griffin after he had a stroke...

Remember when my rear bumper actually looked good...

Did you get that damage on 42 or elsewhere??

I found my first metal damage today, while getting a quote for bedliner around the rocker accent line... turns out I scraped my right ass cheek across a rock sometime over the weekend.

loose it, 60s look great without a rear bumper.

post some more pics of your rig man, i love it!

I am thinking about removing it, at least when i go wheeling... or just decide to say "fxxx it" and get a 4x4 labs once this one is trashed.

I must've gotten it somewhere else. i thought it might've happened Saturday night cuz my senses were a little uhhh... hmmm.. sluggish, i guess you could say haha, but i was out like a light so I'm pretty sure we didn't hit the trails after that lol. Probably happened when driving up that like 4ft incline to get to our parking/camping spot, that big 60 series ass loves reaching out and slamming into stuff.

The first ones never a good feeling, but it gets easier hahaha. I like how Nick knows EXACTLY where and when his dings happened on his hundy.
And its gonna be sick seeing that 60 after it gets bedlined!! i have a feeling it may be a HUGE PITA to clean if it gets dirty, but i think driving to a carwash to have someone else hand wash and vacuum your truck for you takes too much work, so i haven't a clue. I do know that it would be much easier to clean if you just go all out on the classic toyota livery (those racing stripes will make you go sooo much faster ;))

Great thread your a true word smith! Enjoying your adventures!

Im glad someone appreciates my writing, cuz my english professors sure don't

Look at those sexy trucks. Me, Ankur, Nick warming up on trail 42.

Had the best time on this camping trip and definitely plan on hitting the trails with y'all again

Gotta love trail 42 :). My first real taste of off-roading. Probably where you twerked that rear end pretty good. On my way down, I hit the rear pretty hard on that rock ledge at the bottom of the hill climb, but the trailer hitch saved my butt ;). As for the two wheel incident, reminds me of the creek crossing with the log at Black Moose .

I do remember all my battle scars. They make for great camp fire stories. But I still don't remember where I crumpled the fender . I just don't remember, so much stuff was going on during that last ride up 7.

Yeah it was a pretty fun steep hill (we were going up it the wrong way). Surprisingly, i didn't slam down on the "trailer hitch" (i wouldn't even pull a jon boat with that little thing) on anything over the weekend, i don't think?

I agree, they do make for some very cool campfire stories
I can only think of one time you were near the wall on 7, but i coulda swore that only the corner of the ARB was touching. And i don't remember you trading paint with anyone so i have no idea how those black smears got on it.
I guess the story surrounding this new scar will be... a ghost story

Went on a day length excursion today to Durhamtown with some awesome guys, Ankur (AnkurGT) and his brother, Ritwik. We managed to get into some sticky situations, so will post up a ton of pics tomorrow of our travels/blunders.

w00t...

It was an excellent use of a Sunday indeed. I threw up some pics on my thread too --- feel free to steal any you like. There's more on FB ;-)

Time for a rear swing out!

I like the 4x4labs kit, but i also like the security of mounting the spare in the trunk area like 1990's suburbans and my dads excursion. Or at least have something fabbed up where you can master lock along with lug nut the spare to the tire carrier bumper arm so a thief would at least need some big wire cutters instead of only an adjustable wrench.

Yeah... Facebook. guess I'm never gonna see those pictures ;)

Using your idea on the grille and light bezels on my blue 62. You're looks great!

Thanks for the complement, I'm surprised i have actually helped someone

As promised (to no particular person), here are just a couple of the pics from yesterday...

Ankur said he wanted to hit up the rocky section... little did he know, that place sucks. so we left rather quickly...

After the rock place i decided i would lead them to slippery nipple, but i couldn't remember where that was, so i guessed. Low and behold, i was wrong and we ended up in park 2, the muddy one, which leads us to this...

...ANKUR'S FIRST STUCK!!!!
Having learned my lesson in Fayette county a few months ago, i avoided the mud completely. Someone else, not gonna name names ;), had other ideas...

Finally got to use my ARB strap as one HUGE tree saver.

But it worked fairly well, and he was able to wiggle himself into a good spot to be yanked out...

...Everybody gets one, next time its gonna cost ya, Ankur :p

Gratuitous mud shot...

As always, i try my luck on this unnamed trail.. from now on, she will be known as "Emily".

Until this point all is well, Emily was treating me right and Im riding her like she wants to be ridden...

she loves those crossing axles.

Then i decided Emily was a real bitch, so i got out of there...
But atleast she didn't get a hold of my rear bumper :)

Ankur's turn to try out the trail next to Emily...
Emily's European sister, Emilia.

Emilia is a little less "trimmed" than Emily, so trees and shrubbery grow rampant near the bottom...

Getting a little tipsy down where Emily and Emilia join together.

But with the help of my expert spotting ability, nobody rolled here.

Onward to the bottom of "Grand Canyon".

Sexy cruisers!

Playing a little king of the hill.

Finally made our way to the place we wanted to go in the first place, the very top of Slippery Nipple.

Four eyes on fire (trying to blind my brother spotting for me)

I knew i should've brought a hat... keeps the hair out of my stare

I convince Ankur that he HAS to go down as well..

Heard a loud bang, so we needed to make sure everything was alright. Only slammed down on his $2k rear bumper :p

Weird snaking trail where i got stuck immediately last time..

Pretty fun spot though.

Ankur heading down the trail as well, stuffing those pizza cutters up into those fenders like a BOSS.

Near the end of the trail is big ditch that Ankur managed to get his rear wheel WAAAAY up in the air, but we got the pic on its way back down so its not as X-treme.

i had an excellent time: never got stuck, beautiful scenery, perfect weather, and some great guys to hang out with. can't wait to head to Beasley next time!!!

Bambi - you da man. Great writeup on our ride yesterday! I wish I had the patience to caption the pics like you!

I'll wheel with you any day man! You and a your brother are super chill and easy to get along with. Thanks again for being the trail guide!

LOL - you know those Europeans!

That's why I bought it, so I could cringe everytime I bashed it up only to be reminded that body work is a :censor:load more expensive!
