Man we have about the same setup but mine is a few years newer. I have Metaltech fenders, bud built quarters and cut the rockers off as well. I fitted my panels a little differantoly but Bud said most people just poprivet them on.

I used 1/4" 2.5" tube for my rear sill and I also drilled and tapped the body mount locations into the tube. Worked great.

Looks good fryedaddy! Did you weld angle onto the lower edge of the rockers? I haven't decided what to do with that area. I know I'll put sliders about 1/2 inch below the rockers.

I don't know for sure that my fitment will be as good as stock, so I won't be of much help. My best advice is to brace the tub more than you think it needs before tearing into it. It will change shape if not. Good luck!

looks good! planning on welding my passenger side back up tomorrow with the buds and paco wheel wells. only part im really nervous about is the rear corner channels just to make sure fitment is as good as stock. any suggestions for that piece?

Good idea. My 3/16" wouldn't have many threads in it if I tried to tap it. I put my sill in place, marked the holes and drilled them. Then I cut out parts of it for access to the body mounts.

Not sure what its called... My friend (pro auto body man) uses it to hold and align doors, panels, etc. It is very handy.

CCOT wheel wells are in and floor cleaned up. I removed the factory tool box as you can see because it wouldn't work with the seats I'm planning. Also, you might notice the AA twin stick...

I didn't like the edge that the plasma cutter and grinder left, so I welded some 3/16 round stock at the bottom of the rockers. This also stiffens it up. I plan to add sliders later 1/2" below the rockers. Also, I patched some rust with some spare 16 gauge that I had laying around.

Not much progress this spring due to a couple colon surgeries. I did get the rear tank installed. Pictures later. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to fab up some inner fenders for the metal tech tube fenders. Anyone have any ideas? I just did a search and came up empty. I need somewhere to mount the electronics for the TBI. Also, I don't like the idea of running in the mud without inners.

first of all, excuse the crappy primer job (as seen in last pic). It was just put on to prevent rust, and obviously wasn't sanded properly. Also, you can see that I have some work to do on the welds around my quarters. The plan is to grind them down and use some filler. Do you think plastic filler would be ok, or should I use some kind of metal filler?

you thought about recessing the rear fuel filler or usung a fuel door setup like the front stock one? I would be afraid I would catch the rear filler on a tree or a rock.

Yes, I have thought about it, but it proved to be difficult with the filler neck that was provided. I actually have the original sheetmetal from the front filler. I may swap it out someday if I can get a filler bent up correctly. Or, I might be able to take a section out of that one and weld it back together.

I also thought about building a "ramp" to the filler so that it won't get caught on a tree. Not sure if I could ever make it look good though. It really needs to be recessed.

We'll see if it becomes a problem. Contrary to what my 3/16" quarter panels would suggest, I don't wheel very hard. In the past, I have rubbed the upper part of the body against trees, but never the lower part.
