Agree it's not that much - I'm sure he need to hit quota.....

dropped the truck off at Kooks R & D facility - really great folks, they're sending it off to dyno shortly and we discussed options for the build and I'm hoping to get her either Friday or early next week...... it's going to be a long week I can tell !!

Kooks R&D facility looks very squared away - looking forward to hearing about the results of the install.

So I knocked out 980 miles Monday - heading up the rest of the ways from Spartansburg to Kooks this morning...... very impressed with how the Cooper tires run after really getting a chance to drive them hard.... very predictable and seemingly a bit bit less "crisp" over small cracks then the TG2's and other AT's I've run.... mileage was miserable - 11.2 MPG with a avg speed of 76.2...

side note - the fine LA police gave me a piece of paper that states that my indicated 72mph is actually 85........ time to investigage a speedo correction option - anyone know of such a thing for the 200 ?? I cruised right by the cop with my radar going off thinking I was fine but then the blue lights rolled........

hitting hills really highlighted what Carl at JT had advised...... 35's require gears...... so will be moving that up the lsit along with ARB's F & R and look to do the charger in a bit......

E
My speedo is exactly 5mph off

Looks good - be mindful of those tundra hooks bottom loop and your approach angle when wheeling around rock. I'd cut that bottom loop off your recovery tundra hooks as its purpose is to act as a tie down when shipping - its a snag waiting to happen.

I had tundra hooks and I would remove them. You can ask me about snag waiting to happen. I would rather bend a weak tow hook than bending a front cross member.

So - might need bigger brakes.... or to change my driving habits.... KIA cut across and then locked up.... 18 wheeler on one side.... rail on the other... light hit but it's moving the bumper up to the front of the list....

Also got a pile of other goodies - still waiting on the Prinsu rack - with no response to my emails ......

How did you get this grill?

Thanks for the note on the tire pressure - they were at 34lbs cold - moved them up to 38, but much of the bulge was due to the angle I suspect.

Very impressed with the Suspension after getting a chance to put 200 miles on her over a widerange of roads and 15 miles of dunes and dirt.... the Icons really are smooth...... I found setting them on the middle of the range for high speed highway driving makes her much "sportier" and planted..... going to soft on the beach / dirt roads was perfect and took 2-3 minutes

The Dobinson bar is really growing on me - as some noted it does seem to have less over hang then the other options, but hard toi know by how much... the clearance from the body and fenders seems more then enough but I'll keep an eye on it.... like the TJM it used a filler panel under the headlights. I'm torn on painting it bodycolor as I originally intended.....

Got the TEq emblem that they painted on last night..... much better.View attachment 1358411

I'll post up better pics once she's cleaned up -
Where did you get the Emblem to fit the rounded trunk?

A mid progress update - I've beView attachment 1369618 View attachment 1369619 View attachment 1369620 View attachment 1369621 View attachment 1369622 en traveling too much but hoping to finish off most of the mods around the holidays....

Found a set of the TRD 18's local and jumped on them and had the shop test fit a 305/70/18 Cooper ST maxx as a friend has them on his 4runner and I liked how they rode and look....... and luckily they fit ! the front will require just a 5mm Spacer to be comfortable wheelin' and airing down..... but there's about half a finger now.... very smooth riding and a bit quieter then the Toyo Rt's surprisingly.....one in the rear didn't balance out that well so they're pulling in another to replace it.
What ladder do you have?
Thanks,
Matt

the Ladder came from Gobi - nice design and it clamps on really securely
the emblem cam from @bhicks - it is flat but works with jsut 3m tape around the edge well emough....
Agree on the tundra hooks..... the replacements are enroute... mild offroad they'd be fine but that's not the reason for thebuild.... live and learn.

cheers

Here are the ARB's after install (pre-scrapes ;)

Sorry for the hijack, but quick question...when you placed your order did it come with the pair of recovery points or just one? I bought what I thought was a set off ebay from Cruiserheads, and there was only 1 in the package. I feel like $125 shipped is a bit steep for a (nice looking) small chunk of metal.

They ship individually... but I paid $88 and $90 for each of mine. Two different sources. One was eBay. The other was from Cruiser Outfitters (a vendor on this forum).

They are as solid as you can buy.

The switches are avail from Spod - you can customize the rockers.....

Toyota Tundra with Sunglass Holder Switch Panel- 2012-2017 (see notes)

if you call them they can create the kit as a dual LED and also you can request lower backlighting.... it also has a switch to turn the back lighting on and off. they were super fast and had it built and shipped to me in 5 days.

I'll be running a set of Hella 4000's, Baja Designs 40" S8 bar on the rack, Rigid side lights on the rack, rock lights, the ARB compressor, and then Baja design rear lights.

@RS6tofj80, thanks for the great writeup. A few questions on the SPOD and the taillights. For the SPOD, it sounds like the stock version that you referenced in your link only comes without backlighting, you have to call to request the lower backlighting option, correct? Was there an additional charge for this modification? How hard was the switch module to install in the sunglass location? I couldn't find the instructions for the install online, and the product description did mention some cutting may be required; was wondering if this was a switch out the part and install the new part or something more involved?

Your modified taillights look great, and I was confirming that the smoked tint that you showed in your picture was done by your local shop, and did not come from the factory that way? Thanks for your input.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm considering adding the SPOD to run some accessories I'll be installing shortly.

I can't say enough good about how easy the Spod made doing lights etc....the tundra spec unit fits well into the sunglass storage spot - I will confess that I had my elec shop do the install due to travel but they had it knocked out in 1 1/2 hours.....call Spod to order and ask them for the dimmer light and 2 stage LED if you want them to have lighting - they also have a switch so that you can turn the backlighting off when not in use....

the tails on my truck are fleabay specials - they're decent quality but not Depots as I thought..... but they clean up the rear well and are bright.

Can't say I can recommend the headlights on fleabay that I have - on my 2nd driver headlight and still have a light flicker of the lowbeam.....

hoping to hear today on the status of the Kooks build....

I'm gonna admit I'm kinda excited to hear an audio clip of that 5.7 clearing its throat

sadly, we apear to be 10-12 days out from Kooks having everything finished......not happy, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait..... pioneering sucks sometimes...

a few days ago.....very excited for Friday.....

also picked up a set of 18" Trundra rims and had them Pc'ed - like this shape better then the TRD's....... so those will liekly be avail soon.... yes - I have issues.

Will likely be putting the TRD rims/ tires in classifieds shortly....

What tire now SIR?
Those headers are captivating - I can't stop staring at them

Wow. Will they be selling the exhaust system as a package or just the headers? No X-Pipe?
