I don't know that they've finalized pricing - but I think the headers will be over a grand, with an option for non -EGR and EGR given the middle east is a large target market.

Chris Clark is the point at Kooks - chris@kooksheaders.com

I will say that the full setup tranformed my rig and has me rethinking the Sc'er despite Carl's best efforts to tempt me with great video of his rig doing donuts in the snow..... I am hoping to get her on the 4wd dyno here in town next week ot at least figure out where she is now - sadly Kooks wasn't able to get a baseline # prior..... but seat of the pants I'd say it's all of 50hp and a huge change in throttle feel and attitude...

Yea, I'm very curious to see a couple dyno runs. I have mine from stock so while not a good test, can at least kinda see what's out there. So with their "green" cat, how is the smell while parked with the windows down? I used to have a completely opened up exhaust, but returned to stock because the smell was so bad that you couldn't off-road and not get sick from the fumes.

I frankly can't tell that it's any different in smell at all - and I'm very sensitive to the smell and familar with that, as both my old RS6 and E63 had smehow lost their cats while visiting the shop......I had a code / check engine light come on for a bit but it's gone now.... waiting for my techstream to come in so I can see the codes but likely will have stealership pull them later today when they do the 65k service and new wipers...

Stopped by and set an appt for 3 dyno runs with Eurocharged for next Wed...... they laughed when they saw the new toy but once they measured confirmed it'll fit..... they tuned my E63 and have a solid reputation locally with the Euro crowd...

also going to talk with Jerry about any tweaks that they might be able to do to the tranny programming - they really helped with my old JKU on tightening the shift parameters up....

Carl and friends delivered some goodies...... hoping to get them installed next week and can't wait.

I tested the Vision X's out using a spare battery....... OMG - they are insane but truly a spot light which is exactly what I wanted to work with the other lights and Baja Bar......they are going to be a tight fit but I think they'll work - they're HUGE !!!

The ARB hooks came in from Curiserheads as well - anyone want my Tundra hooks ?

and a pic of a present from @beno.........a TEq fuel can....... maybe my second favorite addition to the rig, thanks again Onur !!!

off to NOLA for work in the rig - actually looking forward to spending more time in her.....I did swap the Icons to soft for this trip from "6" prior to see how it rides over the long bridges......it was a bit "Crisp" feeling at 6 last time....

I've been trying to find those ARB recovery points. Do you have a link for those?

Working to get a clip worth posting - probably thursday.... had to move the dyno time to thursday as well.

So the ride with the Icons on full soft and tires at 38f/ 36 R was pillow smooth but a bit wobbly - swtiched to 4 front and 2 rear on the Icon's setting and am really liking that after 100 miles...... hoping the tornado's pass up New Orleans tonight.....

Icon Stage 5 -- $6k worth of suspension? Ouch! My wallet hurts just thinking about it.

crazy to say but it seems worth it....... at 100 it's rock solid and utterly composed on the few offroad trips so far....

as a long term hold it's for sure a splurge - but the adjusters are amazing and quality of product and service are top notch....

and the Tundra front conversion while an additional 1500+/- is totally worth it....

crazy that it all in this mod alone cost more then I paid for both my first 40's and 91' 80 combined.....

but it makes me grin everytime I drive her....

cheers

the new rims are on - the TRD's found a great deserving home and I'm really liking how thise look.... and crazy that they are 3lbs lighter then the TRD's each.....

forgot I'd never posted pics of the TRD intake - the 14-16' version is what's needed along with the OEM Tundra lower section. It's a nice change to the intake tone and a bit more throttle feel/response but likey not much in actualy gains..... but with the Kooks headers and exhaust it's a bit snarlier - easier in, easier out I'd guess....

I also finally got the fire extinguisher mounted - using a genric mount from Amazon another mudder posted..... it fit Perfectly and is very secure and no rattles.....it might limit forward travel a bit but I tend to be almost all the way back - and my gf is 5' 8" so we set it so that it just touches when it's set to her preferences..

I need to get better pics once it stops raining....

Looks great - love this build!
Question: is there a cable missing on that second battery (positive)??

haha - thansk - it's been fun doing the build - I'm still finishing up the second battery wiring...... so yes ! I've got the other relay coming in today and hoping to get it all wrapped up thursday. and wire up the new lights ( vision X's on the bumper - and the Baja side / rear lights on the rack)

She also goes in next week to get the gears, lockers, suspension tweaks done ( 20MM rear spacers , adjusting up the front coilovers, rear panhard, new wheel spacers ( 10mm front 45mm rear) and the new winch swapped in...... ( going with the new VR12000s due to needing the smaller solenoid) - have my unused Vr10000s in classifieds...

Wow - It's like Christmas all over again at your house! :santa:

Interesting running new wheel spacers front and rear, you did the Tundra IFS conversion correct? What are the drivers for the new wheel spacers? And have you noticed issues in soft sand/snow w/ your front/rear widths different? Another mudder mentioned this might be an issue, your rear tires tending to want to slide into the tracks of the front tires.

With the tundra front the 1.25" Slee/Spidertrax spacers used in just the rear line up the track within a few MM....

The new set I had made are 10 MM hub/rim centric in the front and 1.5" wide in the rear to maximize wheel travel and push out a bit from the KDSS....

when getting it aligned after all the parts - the only issue the specialist noted was the need to do an adjustable Panhard to get the track fixed ..... so that's in the pile of parts to go on next week. I think that'll fix the bit of a light pull to the right that I'm noting...
