also picked up a set of 18" Trundra rims and had them Pc'ed - like this shape better then the TRD's....... so those will liekly be avail soon.... yes - I have issues.

Will likely be putting the TRD rims/ tires in classifieds shortly....

Let me know what you want for the TRD wheels. Thanks!

Liking the results..... can't wait to hear it under load...... ( and I'll have 1100 miles to get used to it tomorrow !)

need to figure out how to post the quicktime files.... suggestions ???

Post an audio clip

Will mid-day - flying into Charlotte this morning..... can't wait !

Give me a ring if you have the time - I'm just a few miles from the shop!

Holy gowliness ! got into Kooks around noon yesterday and after messing with an errant 02 sensor the truck was exactly what I wanted ...... very deep growl and then tapering to a roar as it revs up..... but still civil if needed. I need to get sound clips today .....

I ran it back 1140 miles in one shot - rolled into houston at 5:45 am .....happy to report there is a LOT more power - and from 2500 on it's much smoother.... the exhaust also enhanced the growl the TRD intake makes.... More out, more in perhaps.

I had to get back to town to
iphone 2.3.17 033.JPG
kidnap the GF for a weekend away, so leaving shortly but will try to get some pics and sounds clips - also hoping to get it on Eurocharged's 4wd dyno as Kooks was unable to dyno it - it went into limp mode whne they reomved the front shaft to try on the 2wd dyno .....

Still working to get some video clips - for some reason Mud doesn't like quicktime

But really happy with the Kooks setup - I am debating adding a small resonator to the rear as there is just a bit of drone at 70-80.

Ordered up 4:88's and F & R ARB's today....... Carl was right, with 34's or larger it needs gears. Hope to have those in next week

yep - it's all new from block back - they put in a single high-flow cat ( their "green" model) and then installed bungs for the secondaries - no check engine lights currently......

I wonder if that setup would pass smog in Kalifornistan?

go for MT's and you wont need the resonator - trust me

So the added power from the supercharger and exhaust wasn't enough to dissuade you from gears? I have 35s on mine and personally don't feel it's inadequate from a drivability standpoint. My last daily was a fairly fast P car, but I adjusted my expectations with the 200 and have not been disappointed.

For me the gears came down to doing the lockers - and the fact that on the light hills in NC it was gear hunting in 5th nad 6th unless I shifted it manually into 5th...... figured I might as well do the gears since they'd be in there....... I haven't done the Sc'er yet....... but it's substantially more sprightly with a lot more low end torque with just the headers/ exhaust....

after the wallet heals we'll look at the Sc'er again...... the Slee rear bumper is the last other thing I foresee doing to it ( famous last words....)
Cheers~

I was planning to get it to Sparks for the Sc'er but decided I want to get a secnd car -so that used some of the available fun-tickets......

Does Kooks have a ballpark of what the headers and exhaust would cost? And will their headers bolt on to the existing OEM exhaust if all we want is power, not noise?

I don't know that they've finalized pricing - but I think the headers will be over a grand, with an option for non -EGR and EGR given the middle east is a large target market.

Chris Clark is the point at Kooks - chris@kooksheaders.com

I will say that the full setup tranformed my rig and has me rethinking the Sc'er despite Carl's best efforts to tempt me with great video of his rig doing donuts in the snow..... I am hoping to get her on the 4wd dyno here in town next week ot at least figure out where she is now - sadly Kooks wasn't able to get a baseline # prior..... but seat of the pants I'd say it's all of 50hp and a huge change in throttle feel and attitude...

Sounds fantastic - sorry we didn't get to meet up while you where here!
