hey Pete , me and Fred when we worked at prevost few years ago , we were used to work on impressive paint jobs .
For that kind of finish i suggest you to paint everything with 3 coats of the brown tone , let it dry and laid one thin coat of black , next you wet sand by hand with a 400 grit on a soft block , it is similar technic as guide coat on primer .
the thin black coat will be easy to sand off on large an curvy pannel but it will show on all the nook and cranny , stop to sand when it look like you want to and next is a flat clear coat to finish it .

After many hours of sanding and more sanding and scuffing of poly primer things are finally ready to hang up, seal and Paint !!!!
After Too many hrs spent sanding and scuffing i have decided to scrap my idea of a faded and flat finish as i'm am running out of time for the finish on this rig. Too much time would be needed to make a proper looking fade finish as there are Way too many edges or body lines to deal with. so…. she's gonna be full brown with a clear finish and maybe just a small two tone of black .. and a nice scratch finish once i hit the trail ! hi,hi

Got all the parts hung and waiting on the wheather to warm up a bit ( still snow here ) and……

I can't figure how to put up pics anymore so i guess ya'll gonna have to imagin' she's purdy,

Yeah, is usually mounted inside the fender, and is a small step down converter 24-12v for oem radio. One or two amps, so not worth much...
