Looks Great. Is that 4x2x.25" CR Tubing? Ever thought of pressurizing them to make air tanks out of them?

It is 2" x 3" w/ 3/16" wall thickness. I will be caping the ends with 3/16" plate so I could eventually turn them in to air tanks if I wanted, but had not put much thought into that. Yet another thing to think about... :)

1994 slider build and cat bracket

So here is the update! MoJ and I started and finished his sliders this weekend. He has a 1994 FZJ80 so the cats are side by side. We couldn’t find any pics of how anyone had built sliders for this year so we pulled them together and I think they turned out really well. Here are pictures of the final product.

Used 2" round tubing for kick out and placed them at a 60 degree angle from the main 2x3 slider.

I will be finishing my sliders up for my 1997 FJZ80 in a few weeks. The only difference will be the cat bracket.

O Ya, almost forgot we built two sets of sliders for $410.00 TOTAL... If you shop your local steel steel yards you CAN find good prices, but you have to shop around!!!!!

Looking good Zane. We finished up the driver's side in no time. The passenger side is about 2/3 of the way done - just trying to figure out the middle support and integrating a cat "slider" between the front and middle supports. I'll throw up some pics when I get them wrapped up.

I like the looks. My 2 cents would be to go get a magnaflow cat, cut out the stock cats, and make the outrigger straight for more clearance. I have a 14" magnaflow turbo cat under mine ($197 installed) and it makes the slee sliders look silly with nothing there on the PS anymore...tucks up completely.

There is also an offset spun cat available, so you don't have to have the tube work done.

Did that include any O2 sensor work? I'm not that far ahead on that side to make a change.

No 02 work needed, just cut after and before each...

Looking good Zane.

With Chris' and Craig's welding skills we got my set all zapped together, just need to clean them up, paint and attach to the frame.

Life is good if you have a 93 or 94. That cat setup on the 95+ is a PITA. Now I understand why mass produced units are spendy.

Heath - haven't searched - do you have a link handy?

I wish I'd gone this route since I have a little clearance issue - I'm running the center in/out cat. My clearance issue will be solved soon though, as well as my exhaust leak -

I'm leaking right after the first 02 sensor - I'm not as good at welding upsidedown and backwards as the muffler shops are.

1997 cat bracket pic's

So I have finished the Cat bracket for my 1997 FZJ80. I wanted to share the visual differences between the 1994 and the 1997 cat brackets. I primed the brackets, that is why they are white. Final product will be all black. I will be shooting the rest of the sliders with my gun for a nice smooth finish. Wanted to make sure I could get in all of the cracks and corners with a brush on the brackets.

I will be welding on my last kick out tonight and get them all painted and then I will bolt them up.

Nice work Zane. They look plenty stout.
