Finally had a chance to run out to see the snow... Mass quantities last weekend... The lower elevations had melted... Upper elevations still had quite a bit. DaBoise got to play in it for a while.

Then, we drove back to Long Canyon (near where Mark and I hiked) and hiked about 1/2 mile, on a very shallow incline, and turned back. Temp low 30s, wind 25-30... Way too cold for my old bones!!

44 performed flawlessly!!

I would be very happy if that was all we got. We didn't get all that much snow (maybe 4 to 5 inches), but it was cold and the snow stayed for about a week and very slowwwly disappeared. The temps were down to low 20's, and for a few days were down into the upper teens, and never got above freezing for a short time. Fortunately there wasn't much wind, so very little wind chill factor. At least you got sun, and so did we. The solar factor makes a big difference, where you can feel it. That's where the south facing window becomes very nice. Ohhh, the solar heater!

Yeah, my garage doors face north and the garage usually warms up around April... And gets hot by May.

Major snowstorm here last weekend. I was cruising the Sheep Mountains (north side of Vegas)... The highest peak is just under 10k' and I didn't get above 6k'. Looked like about 12" fell.

But, the Spring Mountains (west side of Vegas)have Mt Charleston (~12k') with the ski lodge receiving 81" and Lee Meadow received 72".

X2 on the pics. I especially like the second pic. Just enough snow to really give depth and make the contours, vegetation and the road stand out. Makes me wonder just where the road goes, either direction. Lots of feeling in that pic. It's almost B & W, but with just a touch of color. Wonder how it would look as a black & white. The touch of color might be what intrigues me so much.

Now, if 44 was just barely visible and peeking out somewhere from behind one of the Joshua trees that could really surprise you once you saw 44.

Why, thanks Don!!

I have no idea why it came out like that... I sure don't know what I'm doing.

I would have loved to have 44 on that road, but it's a closed road.

I've got egg on my face here. Often times what I am thinking doesn't make it correctly to the message I'm typing (hunt & peck typing). This is one of them. I was thinking the Joshua trees in the immediate foreground. My apologies!

Certainly no apology needed... Those are Joshua Trees in the foreground... You just can't see them very well in that pic.

Catching up here. Should be half way to you on Sunday. Taking the 45 out to the Hammers!
