Thanks Tom!!

Seems she's starting to trust me again...

I need to put in new gaskets for the doors, especially the back doors.... So much dust back there lately.

The last couple of trips in 44 opened my eyes to the need for new weatherstripping... Especially for the ambulance doors. So, I ordered the weatherstripping form @Racer65 and have it and the 3M Black Super Weatherstripping Adhesive and Cleaner in hand... But the weather cooled off significantly, so that project will wait until it warms up again.

In the meantime, I cleaned a lot of sand out of the back of 44 and modified my driver's seat brackets, to allow me to slide the seat back an extra 1.5-2".

While modifying the seat bracket, I decided I would use a leftover piece of 1/4" steel to make a shift-cane lock... To lock it in reverse. I'm satisfied with the result... Just need to paint it... It slides into the shift-cane and locks to the seat bracket, using a trailer hitch lock.

Since I very seldom park 44 in a public area and generally only in very remote locations, while hiking, it's unlikely anyone who happens upon 44 will have the proper tools to defeat this. Adding this to the three other security measures, makes me fairly confident that 44 will still be waiting for us when we return from a long hike.

I also took a couple of pictures back along Mormon Well... the headwaters of the Sawmill Canyon Wash

But, bottom line... the trip was very successful - no breakdowns - and great fun!!
What size tires are on "44"? Lift? Any issues?

31x10.50R15 KM2s on 15x8 wheels.

No lift - BOSS AirBags in the back... They allow me to raise and lower the rear, as the need arises. For example, I always raise it about 1.5" when I fill the aux tank... And let the air out after the fuel is used.

I can still get in and out of the garage, with the roof rack in place.

Thanks Tom!!

I'm doing very well... My vertebraes will be fully fused by Christmas... No pain whatsoever!! All great... Just need to get over this cough... The remnants of a cold.

Nice job on the reverse shift lock Danny. Very creative.

Slight modification to my shift lock. It now hooks under the seat bracket. Still locks with a hitch lock. Also painted it.

...and on a very technical note, I finally found a good place to carry my sleeping bag and horseshoe pillow (in the black garbage bag), for emergencies... e.g. Trips where I don't have my bed made up.

Since I installed dual electric fuel pumps, protected by an Oil Pressure Safety Switch (OPSS) I decided to add a quartenary form of security... I wired a toggle switch into the OPSS "pump" circuit... To allow me to deactivate the fuel system, while away from 44.

Also, checked fluids and air in tires and packed everything for a multi-day trip... 44 is ready to go... We're planning to visit a number of petrogyyphs and some new mountain ranges and desert vistas... it's gonna be cold at night, but Chester and I will cuddle.

Chester's bed sticks up (in the picture) because my tent is under it, for travel. We'll probably sleep in 44 most nights (just set the tent outside), unless we find a spot we really want to explore for multiple days.

Note: I left Gunner's bed under Chester's, but Gunner can't walk more than a half mile, so he can't hike and therefore, can't go. His left leg is not fully recovered from the pit bull attack... But, Dianna will treat him well!!

Chester is bored and is ready to go.

... And my Dad goes everywhere we go.
