Another uni in there?

great work. one day I'll do a similar type of build, but for now I'll just learn from you.:D

that's if you don't mind.....

are you going to put a Tacho in? if so I beg you to do a factory one. would just top it off.
once again, really neat work!

Thanks 47! I'll be making plenty of mistakes, so please feel free to learn from them. I will be installing a tach. I had wanted a factory unit but I found the new Dakota Digital Dash first. It has a tach already installed. Plus I don't think a factory unit would work with the side window defrost vents.

that sounds like you've got it sorted. do you have any pics of that dash complete? yeah you are probably right about the window vents as well.
also on a different note are you keeping that rim/tyre setup?

I haven't assembled it yet. But if you go to the 40 and 55 tech section of the forum and look at FJ Companies SEMA build thread you can see one in that 43.

I'm probably keeping the rims but I'll be putting new tires on it. It will be BFF K2's. Not sure on size yet. Probably 33x12.50.

Are you going to put a support bearing on that steering shaft? It might have a tendency to wiggle on that long shaft. That a Flaming River kit?

It's already there. Check the second picture. The bearing is bolted to the column firewall flange. Thanks for looking out for me!

Great work Mike!

Where did you source the steering bearing and U joint?

Thanks!

Sorry mate. That's shorthand for 'Might be a good idea to get another uni joint in that steering shaft?'

No worries Cult. I thought you had spotted a unicorn part I wasn't aware of. I may need a pillow block to get more clearance.

@78fj40mg Mike they came with the Saginaw kit from Advance Adapters. You can get a better bearing block from Cruiser Outfitters. It fits right in the end of the column tube and will be hidden behind the firewall plate. Flaming River has the Double D joints available I believe. AA also sells the joints and bearing block individually.

Thanks Bud much appreciate the info.

The wife and I got away for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. So not much work was done in the garage this weekend. We did get home about noon today so I managed to get a little time with the truck. I had some parts come in at the end of the week so I bolted them on and I also cleaned and wrapped the steering wheel. I bought a Wheel skin cover last year some time and have been looking forward to installing it.

I brought home more parts from the paint shop today. I have such an understanding wife!

I'm not sure I like the new bench seat, might be a tad uncomfortable. The rest looks good.

Ummm that's my rowing machine!?

Cult I believe you a bit more than half crazy mate!
