The day finally arrived! I came home with 4 gallons of fresh fuel, made an adjustment to my heater hoses and took off around the block! Everything seemed to run well enough. I pulled back into the yard and made a quick check for drips and leaks. Then I drove it up to the gas station about a mile away and returned home. All temps and pressures were good. Parked it in the garage while I went in and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Came back out to the garage and checked again for drips and leaks. All good! Then I took off for Tuckers house to meet he and Roma so I could get an exhaust flex joint Roma had for sale. I'll need it tomorrow for my visit to the exhaust shop. All totaled I drove it about 25 miles today. As I was departing for Tucker's my wife made the short video.

Mark,
Thanks for the great engine! I think you would be very proud of the way it runs. Without exception I have no complaints or concerns about the way it runs. You did a very good job sir!!

To all that may be interested the above video link should work now.

Thanks you for your patients.

Somehow i didn't get an alert when this thread was updated. Anyway, i've seen and heard the video right now. It's music to my ears. I'm very happy that the 12ht went to a good home! I hope you'll enjoy it for many more years to come!

And thanks for the kind words. I'm really happy that in the end all went well.

Mark

You're welcome Mark! Maybe one day you will have the opportunity to see and drive it in person. It is a very fine tuning truck right now. I could not be any happier with how the engine runs or the gearing and tire size combination. The truck is living up to its name now "Sampson".

Virginia made a pretty good impression on me when i was there in January. My wife and me do want to do a roadtrip in that area, so visiting Alabama is not out of the question at all! Just a couple of hours away.

Well maybe more than a couple of hours away from Virginia. But certainly do able from any road trip into the south east. You two will be most welcome here.

It lives! Woo hoo!

Yes Indeed! I may only have gained about 12 HP but the 80 extra ft/lbs of torque is hard not to notice!

Cult I ended up putting 2.5" exhaust on it. My exhaust guy recommended it over 3". He said I would lose some on the lower end with the 3". It sounds like a Duramax at idle.

Any straight through system on a 12H-T is gold.

For anyone interested in a good 2H I have listed the engine I just removed in the Diesel JDM classified section here on mud.

I picked my seats up from the upholstery shop today. For those that don't remember the seats were originally from a RHD unit that I did a little work on before the covers went on. I will need to build a pedants for it now.
The color matches my door panels exactly. Im very pleased with the end result.

I love new upholstery more than anything..

Cult it is a marine grade vinyl product. It feels like leather. I had them over stuff the bottom seat cushions. They feel very nice to sit in. I'm very anxious to get them installed.
