If your talking about the heat shield on the bonnet then your hoses are in the correct spot

Thanks L79, I wonder what the holes for.........

The original cab is a 1998 and the replacement is a 1991. Attached is a picture of tank the panel beater said was no good for older cab. Panel beater said chassis was slightly different also. Will send picture of current tank later.
Its a bit late now but that is an easy fix cut the tank brakets off your 1998 tub and weld them over the 1991 brakets, fits perfect and then you can usr the later tank. Those early ones are a b--th to get out and in.

That's exactly what we did. Initially we were going to swap the tanks but decided it was less grief to cut the brackets off the old tub and weld them into the new one.

So how are the tanks and how are the brackets different

Here are pictures of my brackets. These were taken from the original 1998 cab and welded on to the replacement 1991 cab because there was a gap between the 1991 brackets and the 1998 tank. You might just be able to see that these brackets are about 25mm more towards the back of the ute than the 1991 version of the bracket. I think the brackets were also a slightly different shape.

It shows that you didn't get your floor pan painted!:D

Started putting the carpet in today. Underlay first then the carpet and passenger seat.

Slow and steady wins the race with this job. When I cut the underlay I chose the passenger side holes for a single seat not a 3/4. Luckily I offered up the seat to check I had cut the holes big enough and realised my mistake before I laid the carpet.

Looks very nice.
Are you confident your cab doesn't leak? I was always nervous about the soundproofing getting wet and me not knowing about it until it caused damage.

You going to sound proof it. Doing the roof, firewall and floor makes a huge difference to a 75 in terms of ear comfort.

I thought about it but the soundproofing underlay was really expensive. There is some soundproofing built in to the truck at the firewall and I have a second lot from the replacement cab so will see if I can double some of it up under the carpet.
How does soundproofing the roof work? I have a ceiling panel in the roof that I need to replace the cover on.

Yeah as long as the doors are shut fully it seems OK, I might check with the hose now you have me thinking about it :)

It's more around the front windows corners area you get leaks . Then you get a wet drivers foot when driving in the rain or the passenger gets a wet left foot

Hey Clint do you mean through the rubber around the windscreen?

Fitted the door trim today but it had lost two of the plastic clips that receive the screws. Fortunately these little brass clips saved the day.

When I first got my truck it was leaking around the small vent window (drivers side)
and at the base of the windshield ( the seam where the windshield folds over ) and appeared to have been leaking for quite a while. The floor mat ( felt) had been wet for a lengthy period if time. The leaks were stopped, the rust was removed,
( thankfully only light surface rust ), a new mat was installed and small rubber trips now separate the mat from the floor.
Even after all of this I still inspect the floor on a regular basis.

**As far as using a water hose to check just bare in mind that my leaks were small and very hard to detect however small leak + time = big mess.

Yea it can be that or the rubber between the bottom of the windshield and the metal panel below it or under the corner of the fenders and the bonnet hinges area.
Mine was a simple leak ,My 79 leaked and once I had a new front glass and requested a new rubber it fixed the leak.

Edit: That carpet looks neato were did you get it from

Also when I changed my door glass from quarter window set up to full glass one off my quarter glass frame was heavily rusted out as its a bit I a water trap there.

Utes looking good

This is the seam I am referring to. It was filled with silicone and the leak stopped.
