Not to hijack your thread, but you made a statement earlier in your build that really sums up my thoughts on a properly aged Cruiser.

The world has plenty of perfectly painted cars.

I spent over $20,000 with no labor and no paint and body to build this truck.

It’s not hard to make money go when doing one properly

Your 40 is one of my favorites and yes, the world has plenty of perfectly restored cars.

I know for me personally, I wouldn't drive a restored truck nearly as much as I would a well used truck. I'm a really big fan of these trucks we've been building....modern-ish drivetrain, fuel injection, new wiring, new steering....such a nice setup. Works for me.

Finished the front and rear harnesses today....these are the connectors we used for all the sub-harnesses. Super nice. Pricey but I should be able to get a couple builds out of one kit.

Those sub harnesses allowed for these things to light up. Now we start doing some venturing out and about in the 'hood with it.

The fuel injection I put in my FJ60 completely transformed it. It’s unreal what one modern touch like that does.

Agreed 100% on the fuel injection part. Game changer. My brake setup follows a close second to the fuel injection I think. I love being able to stop as if I was in one of my newer trucks. Short straight stops with the setup we use.

Do you guys use a proportioning valve with the Powerbrake setup?

No proportioning valve in our system. We use disc/disc on all our builds.

Thanks Dom. I think when you buy that ABS Powerbrake, you choose disc/disc or disc/drum....so it might be built in. No big deal to put in an adjustable one so you can fine tune it.

Now it's time for the fancy pics.....and a front windshield.

We had her out today....put in the first tank of gas. My fuel pump is annoying and way too loud. Going to see if I can't figure out which one I got from Napa for my pickup. It's super quiet. We've got an oil pan leak(we never messed with the pan on this motor).

I thought we were really close.....but then I saw all the stuff on this punch list.

Got these mounted. OEM mirrors. Beautiful.

New glass on the rear view mirror and some fresh paint.....

These guys cleaned up nicely with a little polish....

This is some rig... wow!

.....and a front windshield

I don’t know, for some reason I’m envisioning a helmet with goggles.

ha....a helmet and goggles would be great!

Even though I truly love the LV I'm not in the patina camp, so what is the plan for the body? In Mo. it would be swiss cheese in months. Please don't take offense to my inquiry, you and your crew are doing some great work on her.
