Love this pic. Have you considered camouflaging the OME steering dampener?

For whatever weird reason, that damper doesn't bother me in yellow. I might wrap it in vinyl and see if the truck looks better without it. I'm sure it will. It's a bit of an eyesore.

What's more important though is that I need to drive it....maybe today.

Here I fixed it for you.

All this talk about the 45 gave me a good kick in the ass to go to the shop and get it out. I'm in the process of developing the property next door to my current property so it's been a struggle taking trucks in and out of the building on that property. We're almost ready to join the properties...then it's back to being easy to get them in and out.

^Love the old SR5 wheels

Aren't they cool? I always wanted a 4Runner or a pickup with them. Never was in my budget though. I had an 80 series with them but I didn't seem to like them on the 80. I LOVE them on the 73.

We have them refinished right down the street from my shop.

Unfortunately I keep the 45LV cool and dry in the summer. It kills me to drive it when it's raining.

Brought home this guy.....82 Toyota Trekker

How about some 67 LV goodness that arrived over the summer....

The Trekker is pimp

Are you combining those two LVs to one? Customer?

The LV in the pics is the same one. It was an abandoned project(no doors)....the guy I got it from went to the various shops that had the parts for it and put some of it together. It's a super complete truck....need to open some boxes up to see what we have.

I bought it with the intent to sell/build for a guy/friend/business associate that is in love with my 66 LV.....he's deciding if he wants to build it or not. Somebody will scoop it up...it's a neat truck.

Trekker? More pics and info on that one. Never seen one of those. Was it an aftermarket job on a pick up?

The Trekker has an interesting story......there are a couple of them. One goes that Toyota had 3 RV manufacturers build a small SUV based on the hilux pickup. There was a Trailblazer, a Breaker-Breaker(what a cool name....way cooler than the truck) and the Trekker. The other story goes that a Wisconsin based Toyota dealer, Jack Safro, created the Trekker working with Winnebago to create a fiberglass bed and topper(topper not meant to come off) so people could have a 4 seater that had seat that would fold down so people could sleep in it. Hard to know what the real story is....maybe a combo of both. 1200-1500 Trekkers were made. I think 400 of the Trailblazers were built by Griffith. Not sure on the Breaker Breaker. It's a pretty crude build.....exactly what you could imagine on an early 80s RV. It's cool. Mine is pretty untouched....only 112k miles on it. Most were sold in CO, CA and the PNW apparently. Mine bounced around between the bay area in CA and Washington state. 1 owner for 37 years. I have been eyeballing these things for a while and by chance the right one popped up so I grabbed it. It's neat. Neat little truck. Very happy with it. Hopefully my tag will be here this week for it so I can start driving it! I've got a link going in the 95 and older section.....I'll find the link.

Mine are kind of a green....camera isn't getting them too good. I'm thinking this thing was blasted and then epoxy primed.

Did yours have the double stick tape/gaskets on them?
Mine was the same. Original paint w grease pencil markings thru or over the paint.

I test drove a Trekker in 1982 at Toyota of Puyallup(WA), might even be the same one. they had a FJ40 and 60 at the time also, think I tried to talk my mom into getting the 40...lol. I ended up with a 87 4runner in 1988 eventually(and latter an 82 FJ40) . Mom ended up waiting till 1997 to get a 40th triple locked 80....which she still has :)

there were 2 in town up till 10 year ago, also a Datsun version. there were also a few of the pre factory 4x4 mini trucks that had the 4x4 conversions done around 77-78

years before I remember our local chevy dealer had one of those Blazers with the pop up camper....forget what it was called.

Ha....would be something if it was the same one. I think this one was a Cali truck, then to WA, then back to Ca. Something like that.

The Blazer was the Chalet. Really cool

I forgot how much I enjoyed the 45 section.....I spend too much time in the 70s. Need to get back over here.

Had the LV out at a Toyota event last weekend.....nobody really cared about it :( Seems Tacomas with lots of bolt on gear were the cool kids. My buddy who drove it to the show(he has driven a lot of my cars for many years) got out and said, "Have you driven this lately?"....figured he was going to say something about it doing something weird since it's just coming out of its summer hibernation. So I asked him why and he said, "I have never driven anything so smooth". Lol. he was shocked.

Well protected by it's 70 series stable mates

Just plain cool.

Modern, bolt on is so easy.

Old school is eternal. That last pic is priceless.

The highlight of the day was finding this in the mailbox. Thanks to @RAGINGMATT on here for making this. It's PERFECT. I love it. Finished off my engine compartment exactly the way I was hoping. Quite honestly, it might be my favorite thing on the truck. That probably sounds really weird.

@RAGINGMATT might be one of the best vendors I've dealt with. Incredible communication and a total pro. I can't believe I've never come across him before. Glad I did.
