Mudship: Me to Morgantown WV

This is the current plan:

August 2nd leave Huntersville NC at 0600.
Arrive Morgantown Brewing Company Morgantown WV approxiamtely 1200.
Depart Morgantown WV in new to me 1995 80 series 1400 at the latest.
Arrive Huntersville NC 2000.

I am harassing my neighbor who needs a little excitement in his life to drive me up there but his wife isn't really excited about the idea. See why he needs a little excitement? So I'm looking for an alternate in case he falls out. I checked flights but they are around 500$ and not any faster so that is out.

So the same deal as ATL. I pay for gas, food, and several growlers of beer. This is of course pending anything happening like the seller backing out or someone else buying the truck first, which is a distinct possibility.

Any takers?

I've got work on the 3rd at 8am, so 2000 + 3.5 hours to Durham = 2330, assuming nothing goes wrong during the trip, would be cutting it too close.

I know I said "any other weekend" in your last thread, but I guess that's not true.

Yes, I told him to let me know if it sells. Now a paypal deposit, there is an idea...I'm just worried I'm going to show up and the thing is actually trashed...

Buying unseen vehicles at a distance is tough on a good day. I have traveled as far as Pittsburgh for a truck and that was not one of my better deals. It's a pig in a poke situation so you need to be ready to walk away. That is tough to do when there is also a third party involved, the guy that drives you. There are nice 80 and 100s around, you just have to be vigilant and ready to go at a moments notice.

Check the Greenville and Asheville listings, Raleigh as well.

Showed up in WV yesterday around Noon. Vehicle was exactly as he said. Drove it home. Pictures to follow. I've got a stack of receipts 3 inches thick to go through but I found the original window sticker. 45k$! A steal! Thanks for everyone's help and advice.
