These were on Patty when I brought her home. I finally got around to cleaning them up and really looking at them. For a 37-year-old truck, they're in surprisingly good shape. The skid plate doesn't have a scratch on it - like, literally no scratches, dents, nothing. There's a tiny bit of surface rust. The mud flaps are a little faded.

So...
- Do the mud flaps look like O.E. for 1984?
- If "yes" are they vintage cool... or nah, eBay them or stuff them in the basement
- Is the O.E. skid plate worth putting back on, or is an upgrade to a more substantial plate the way to go? (just can't get over how perfect the damn thing is)

The mudflaps are original. I'm buying if you're selling I need a pair of those mudflaps. The bottom engine cover thing is original, too.

the mudflaps and skid plates will clean up well. theres a few threads on restoring FJ60 mudflaps. I did that for my old cruiser and just scored a restorable pair for the 85' 4runner cause yeah I think its vintage cool

Do not toss those mud flaps.

Vintage cool then! I might have to see if they can be incorporated into the trayback.

Like... purist cool kind of stuff. Lol. Skid plate is just going to hold dirt. I reckon if youre wheelin hard enough to need a skid plate, thats the last thing youre gonna be worried about.
