Once you're lucid again, give me a call. I want to come bring you and Caroline dinner one of the days this week.

OUCH......get well Ryan...now I gotta hide this post from my wife......lest I lose abike before I get it..

Ouch! Glad you're alive to tell about it. I love to ride but it's dangerous business...especially with so many morons talking, texting and generally being morons.

This is the main reason both of mine found new homes this year. After almost getting wiped out more than a few times on my ride to work, the fun was gone.

OP, Hope you get rehabilitated as soon as possible. Glad you are well enough to talk about it.

Damn man very sorry to hear that. Hope the both of you get better soon.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm actually hanging in there thanks to my morphine button. Haha. I'm in alot of pain and can't eat or n drink. Darin said it earlier "there are rider who have went down and riders who will go down. LockedNLoaded you a chiver?

Damn Ryan, glad you are still with us. Speedy recovery to both of you. I stopped riding when I was 23 and true to Darin's statement had gone down once before I stopped riding. I agree with Sam, just too many bozos out there not paying attention to what they are doing.

Get well soon!

Wishing a speedy recovery, Ryan.

Now that you have plenty of time, read about Diesel Dogs motorcycle wreck in Mud chat. You will realize how lucky you and Caroline were/are.

that sucks and you are lucky, get well soon. I got more broken bones from motorcycles then i care to talk about. Grin and bare the PT, it will hurt, but will be worth it. if you need anything let us know.

Dang, very sorry to hear this, but quite happy you lived to tell about it!

absolutely hate to hear it but really glad you are ok....for the most part. Any idea how long you are gonna be in the hospital. Praying for a speedy recover bud.

I am probably going to piss more people off on here too but that is my calling card. There are 2 things that are a guarantee in life. Taxes and death.

Not saying anyone on here has said it yet but it will be said or thought. This is for others thinking about getting a bike also.

I do not believe that you should sell a bike after going down. if that was the case why would most of us still be driving a car ? Most of us have been hit. Yes it is way more dangerous out there on bikes. Got it. You have to take what happened in your situation and see how you could of helped prevented it. Not saying you could of by no means as i could not on mine either, but you have to learn that 4 wheel drive drivers do not care about bikes. After you get past that then you know to do everything you can to stay away from them. If i stopped doing everything that hurt me i would of been dead along time ago. Think about it. You get food poisoning but yet you still eat. If not you would be dead.

Maybe i am stupid here ( i am ) but i have learned along time ago that i will die one day. If i die on my bike / jumping / dirtbiking / offroading / sex then atleast i went out doing what i enjoy in life. Yes, people will be hurt by my passing ( maybe and maybe not ) but hey i did it my way. No i do not have kids, yes i am happily married, but she understands. You have a much better chance being killed in an actual car crash ( you being in the car ) than you do doing the other things on my list.

One other thing that put things into perspective for me was. Being shot at and blown up by an IED in combat. It changes a lot in a person. I am talking boots on the ground combat.

All this being said i will do my darndest to never ride in Nam ever again.

Ryan, if you need anything please feel free to give me or Robin a shout.

Actually, I cannot agree with Darin more. I shall own another bike at some point when I live somewhere out away from town. Getting out of CLT on two wheels is just too damned nerve wracking to make it fun.

Went to visit caroline and Ryan today. Laura made them a big batch of home-made choclate chip cookies. This pic was taken right after Ryan gave teh "happy" button a press. He looks wasted! They're both in good spirits, which is most important.
