I still wonder if it is more an issue with frame flex than torque..
Who wants to weld the 2 halves of their frame together. And see if it helps.

Don't chain the mount itself. There's a better way.
Use a turnbuckle and chain together (on some rigs you can use just a turnbuckle). Attach on end to the frame and the other end to the engine itself. As high up as practical. On the driver's side of course. Sometimes a turnbuckle with a hook on one or both ends works best. Tighten the turnbuckle up. You're done. The engine is solidly preloaded by the turnbuckle and the mount can not be over stressed or broken.
We used to do it routinely with 400-500 horsepower street/bracket racers back in the day. Any increase in engine vibrations transmitted to the frame is un-noticable.
eleblanc, any pictures you can post of the new mount? I'm curious about the 3B mount...
yea it would be a bitch in a 62Its doable, the big thing is there is such little space right there. I dont think you could come straight off the block with a piece of tube because the alternator is right there. When i pull my motor down ill see if i can integrate a tube and that style mount into the stock bracket so that it will still clear everything.
simple solution keep that in mindMany years ago when I did an SOA on a stock 60 I went thru 2 or 3 mounts. the last one I installed, I cut the studs, drilled it & thru bolted it with a 1/2" bolt. wheeled the hell out of it without a single problem & there was no added vibration. Unless you knew exactly what you were looking at you could not tell it wasn't stock. in my opinion it was much better than chain.

Ran a bolt thru my motor mount. Worked like a charm last weekend in the rocks. The trip before that wheeling the same trails I broke a tranny and motor mount and overheated beacuse my drivetrain slide over and stopped my fan from spinning. Talk about hitting the trail hard and having it hit back.
When I put the toybox in the next month or two I am going to run solid bolts thru the tranny mount as well.
