Thanks @kevin in okinawa @Jakes40 @TRDdrew . I'm not going to make it out this month due to a scheduling conflict but please do check out the TLCA Call B.O.D. Rep notes in the private section for use in tomorrow's meeting.

Also can anyone help me to grab some t-shirts and swag from Fall Crawl? I wasn't able to figure that out when I came in for the day. I can drop by and pick them up from someone this month. Just let me know who's got em.

Nick

@Diff Kraken ya we can do the TLCA stuff.
The swag did not show up till Friday.

CLCC Treasurer’s Report: March 2025

Go to the private section for club funds info.

Old Business:

We will have an updated roster/annual dues tracker for the May meeting.

Peters Mill/Taskers Gap trail maintenance 3/29. We didn’t have the best turnout, but the effort was a success—at least 8 trees of significant size were removed from the trail. The north gate was locked, we should see about getting a copy of the key for the club to use.

Upcoming Events and Activities:

2025 Swap Meet on 4/26 (Saturday). Now 4/27. Flyer will be updated on Mud. Flyer updated and posted to our page and other regional club pages. Start time is 0900 not 1000 hrs.

Carolina Relic Run. April 9–13, 2025, Uwharrie National Forest in NC. Look for the club caravan discussion in the Mud thread. Meet up on Thursday at Southern State. John Vee’s new nickname is “Meat Snacks.”

Wheeling at The Cove: Big Dogs events at The Cove: “Ice Breakers” (4/25–4/27) and “Spring Fling” (6/20–6/22)

Tech Day at World Tour Off Road in Annapolis June 21 (Sat) 10–4pm. There is a thread on Mud. The club will allocate $100 GC for the shop as thanks. Crabcakes (Eric) stated he is right down the road and can host the after-BBQ at his place if need be.

Fall Crawl on 10/24–10/26. We should develop some committees for this event.

New Business:

CLCC bylaws update, review, and vote in April (4/3—4/17). Summary of proposed changes will be available for voting online on ih8mud. Kevin will get on this and post the proposal on Mud for voting and ratification.

Fall Crawl t-shirt design. Anyone and everyone can submit a design for this year’s event. We will vote on a candidate in June/July. Start thinking about your design now. Let’s get a 100-series on there this year! If you have design skills, create and submit a draft design by July. Themes to include: a Land Cruiser, the shape or form of Virginia, “Fall Crawl 2025”, and “CLCC”.

Jake’s neighbor. Jake’s neighbor has a sweet metal working setup and plasma cutting table (and a seriously strong metal brake) that is looking for projects. Contact Jake “Jakeisbadatthis” on Mud for details. Jake nodded enthusiastically in concurrence.

Cruiser and Crabs event. June 7. June 14, 10–5. We will be doing a crab boil and whatnot out near Andrew’s place (2460 S Shore Dr. Port Republic MD 20676). The club is picking up the tab for the crabs. More information to follow but save the date. Check the Mud thread for details and to RSVP.

Nick's nonprofit project. Nick has some updates.

Other Noteworthy Discussions:

Fall Crawl: Faith will call The Cove to set up a meeting between Cove mgmt. and our local members. T-shirt and sticker design is open to anyone. NO RED SHIRTS this year.

Ed had a sweet deal on some surplus Baofeng radios that he came across; sold out at the meeting.

Andrew VP: develop some LC trivia that would spice up the meetings a little, club will award prizes. Initiative approved by vote.

Greg (new guy) asked about having some hip pocket tech discussions at the meetings.

Attendees: 19

John Vee’s new nickname is “Meat Snacks.”

I'm all for that, but somebody is gonna have to explain it!
The nickname comes not from me, but it has to do with your love of BBQ and regular possession of, and/or knowledge of, related meats. Nothing more, nothing less. 🍖🍖🍖!!!

A few years back at Coal Miners we (wife and I) wheeled with you guys at least one of the days. Great time wheeling at Anthracite. Every time we stopped, you were producing different types of BBQed meats and treats...you had an impressive array of flavors, I remember them being tasty and well received. It was one of our first wheeling adventures in America, very memorable. So, I know you as John Vee, but my wife remembers you as the "meat snacks" guy, but "meat snacks" for brevities sake.
I think it rolls off the tongue! :)

Ahhhhh! I think that was my first trip with the burrito basket under the hood. I’d brought a nice assortment of food that rotated throughout the day. Gotta love a warm trail meal, even in July!
