For anyone arriving Monday or Tuesday without accommodations, I have a 3 bedroom condo that will have at least one extra room. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

The situation is that my parents, brother, and wife will be in Moab from the 28th through Monday morning and then everyone is leaving and I'll be solo until my wife returns for Breck on Thurs/Fri.

Month away!!!

We are still a maybe, waiting for this little girl to come into the world:) We are booked at the Expedition lodge, tentatively rolling into town on Monday afternoon, proly gonna do a Helicopter tour that evening! So we'd be down to run trails on Tuesday and then convoy to Breck on Wednesday! Is it too early to get excited, damn let's do this! Sidenote if we could make Top of The World one of the runs for Tuesday that would be awesome, if not no biggie!

I would seriously consider coming over and joining you all but I strongly suspect you all will want to wheel the slickrock areas or more moderate to difficult trails whereas my favorites are on the easier/scenic side such as Onion Creek/Thompson Canyon and Hurrah Pass. Beautiful drives but not so much about wheeling and not challenging enough to provide a good test for those of you who have built up your trucks.

And, BTW, August is "low season" in Moab due to the heat (often 100 or above) so finding lodging shouldn't be an issue. ;)

I am open to trying new trails. We can decide among group day before when we have our evening meeting.

I'm planning to be there, and am happy to do any/all types...

Dan, you should def come over to Moab, we are down to run any trails!!!

Ran Onion Creek / Hideout Canyon yesterday and it's a worthwhile ribbon of dirt. No real challenge but rather enjoyable. Would be fun to loop it over Polar Mesa to Gateway for lunch and then come back via the Dolores Triangle route.

That! Onion Creek is not technically challenging but it is a very cool drive. The Canyon is amazing and the stream crossings are fun. Glad to hear you ran it yesterday, @Utah200! Here are some pics from when I did it a couple years ago. I apologize for not having an LC.

I just told my wife I need to go to Moab before Breck - especially since I can only be at Breck on Wed and Thu. She's good with that. It will be fun. Hot, but fun.

I ended up in Moab this weekend (still there right now too if anyone else is here and wants to run a trail or two.) Just did Gold Bar Rim into Little Canyon. Pretty technical trails with some decent shelves. Not for a stock 200, that's for sure. A buddy in a stock Tacoma kept up until the shelves hit, not a chance then. Even with 35s I had to place a few rocks to keep my diff dragging on a couple of very steep inclines. Very soft sand in a few spots too. Fun times.

I did try out the crawl control. That's some magical stuff. I was in L4 and couldn't climb one shelf due to wheel spin. Popped on crawl control and it just rolled up the thing. Amazing stuff.

May have talked the wife into leaving AZ on Sunday to join the group for Monday and Tuesday wheeling!!!

Moab has always been on my bucket list, can't wait to finally get there.

Can we get head count and days you will in Moab? Thanks.

I may jump in, but need to check my work schedule.

we arrive on Monday afternoon and are in for Tuesday wheelin! (so long as the baby comes soon:))

Currently planning to be there Monday/Tuesday. I'll likely drive over on Sunday. Driver over to Breck on Wednesday. But things have become "interesting" at work so all this assumes the current status quo. My wife is a maybe.

@TonyP , if you are camping then having a "hot" shower may not be a problem as the water probably comes out hot that time of year in Moab. Seriously, we should expect it to be hot - like >100 hot. (Of course, for those from AZ, it may feel like a cool down.) But because it is so hot it is not generally peak season so I would think that there are hotel deals to be had. I may use some points to get a couple free nights.

Also, @kreiten and @Utah200, if there is interest in running Onion Creek up into the mountains on Tuesday, I'm in. It may be a relief from the heat down in the valley. It won't push the limits of your vehicles but it is a pretty cool run from a scenic perspective.

If it's anything like Afghanistan in August it'll be a hoot. Like a blow dryer in your face at all times.

That being said, I'm booked at the Silver Sage Inn. It's kinda dumpy but has A/C and a shower. Good enough for me.
