I'm in for this Pre-Breck run! This is going to be awesome!

@ethernectar This is Moab prerun. Dates are on front page. Please confirm if you are coming.

Earliest I can be there probably mid-day on the 30th. Figuring its about a 12 hour trek without any scenic stops. Would still give time for a day or two of runs before heading to Breck so count me in.

I updated post #1 with confirmations.

@BTUMAN we can meet same place around 5pm on July 29 and figure out trail runs for our group.

Hey @Atwalz - I'm still probably not going to make it for the Moab run. It could change. I will know more around July 4.

If you need help with a pre-run let me know. I'm planning on heading to San Rafael to do the Lower Road in a couple of weeks.

You probably already know but here are a couple of good resources for GPX/KMZ files for Utah and Colorado

"IN".

Booked the Homewood Suites with some forgotten HHonors points! We'll arrive on the 30th, and will be down for trail runs on the 31st and 1st.
PM me your name and cell no. for group text.

Just watched "Dirt Everyday" on Netflix. In Season 1: episode 11: they ran trd pro Tundra thru hells gate few times. I think LC can do it. We need good spotter who has done this before.

I was being facetious :) but yeah rolling down hells gate would be a bummer.

Either way I'll try it.

It's perfectly doable with responsible driver and experienced spotter. Fred did mention about jeeps rollover thru obstacle.

Spotting is key. A few years back I watched Christo spot a few trucks up Hells Gate including a barely modified Tacoma and an 80 on 33s, and with his spotting it literally had no drama. It made it look so easy it was even boring! Then some guys in a Jeep on 40s came through and had a horrible line (declined anyone's help) and it looked terrifying. It's all about line choice on that obstacle and having someone experienced in the group more so than the vehicles themselves. Shoot if Christo is there and willing to spot me this week I'll give it a go :hillbilly:

I did Hells Gate in my FJ a few years back. It had 33's.

The 200 series LC is probably the perfect vehicle for that obstacle based on its longer wheelbase.

The real scary obstacle on the Hells Revenge trail imo is Tipover Challenge. I did that one last year in my LC and it was a little dicey to say the least.

Ouchouchouch!!!

Here's an example of a horrendous spotter but moreso a horrendous driver.

Ugh! Sure do see a lot of the short Jeeps do this. I remember when the 4-door came out, everyone scoffed...but more and more you can see why the longer wheel base make sense in many scenarios like this one for jeeps. This video is a perfect example of the short wheel base making it awfully prone to rolling forward or back (crappy driving didn't help in this case...).
