Planning on stopping off at my place in SC prior to the MLK weekend. What day are you guys leaving the Upstate for Tellico. Want to get in on a caravan.

Well JP and I and I assume Ghen will have classes on friday so we will probably be the tail end of the caravan. Not sure on a time I'd say leaving mid to late afternoon.

I'll probably be swinging through Greenville on my way to Tellico Friday afternoon so I'd be up for a caravan as well if the timing works out for everyone.

I have a class til like 5 or 5:30 but I think I might skip it in which case I could leave anytime after 2 I think. I'm not sure how I'm getting there yet though.

I'm planning on leaving around 9- 10. Check in is around 3 that afternoon. So I'd like to be at least an hr or two early just incase there are problems. I don't mind hanging around Tellico Plains for an hr or so. It might give me time to go to the grocery store. Jim what if we met at Alan's or your place to convoy out. I could use some vehicles with some room to cart some things up. The verticle smoker comes to mind. I know Alan , David, myself were all planning on riding up together. We could make the area up around ya'll a starting spot.

If our paths cross I should have extra room to cart things Marshall.

We met at the Holly Springs store, Hwy. 11 and 178, for GSMTR this past May. Gives us a chance to get last minute items like fuel, ice, etc.

The bed of my pickup will have some room to cart stuff up. However, I will not be driving back home through the Upstate area. So, anything I cart up will have to be brought back by someone else or it will end up with me in FLA.

Since I don't have work or classes, I will be up for the early departure time. I can write a note for Hard40 and Gundy to get them out of work early if need be.

Marshall,

I can swing by your place on thursday if you need me to pick up anything for the trip. I have to go into Pickens to get some SC tags for my 40 that day.

subject to boss approval

I understand that Hard40's boss is coming. Mine isn't so I'll need that note.
;)

Note to Mrs. Gundy

Dear Mrs. Gundy,

Please excuse your husband, David, from work on friday prior to MLK day so that he may go on a class field trip. In store for his educational benefit, we will have experiments in chemistry using highly volatile liquids in various experiments. There will be pyro-technic experiments involving combustible materials, as well as physics experiments involving defying gravity, immovable objects, and mechanical advantage with an emphasis on ramps, levers and screw-drive winches. For extra credit, a high-level math-course focusing on actions/reactions and vectors using a specially constructed lab table with spherical orbs made of ivory will cap off our physics experiments.

As if this weren't enough, David and his classmates may combine many of these learning exercises together, in particalar, the volatile liquids, pyrotechnic and the high-level math course, a favorite of our past students who attended our seminars over the years.

This educational camp will be attended by other students with similar interests and expertise such as David posesses, especially David's fine past work over the years involving experiments with volatile liquids. The students who have elected to attend this year's MLK extravaganza are all of the highest calibre and integrity, real pillars in their communities.

There will be a nutritionist at the camp, who coincidentally is from the Greenville area, who speciallizes in very nutritious meals, with an emphasis on the proper volatile liquid to be served with each meal.

Please advise David that upon satifactory behavior and good conduct, he will be allowed to conduct additional experiments where he will be allowed to ignite short cylindrical combustible sticks, sometimes imported from Cuba, and watch and learn the secrets of how fire and burning can be ever so enjoyable.

On a final note, attendence at this camp/seminar is not only a tax write-off, but we will extend any and all required continuing-education credits for any occupation and any state. So Lawyers, Doctors, Architects, Engineers Contractors, ANYONE, will have their required CEU's.

Convoy from ATL...

Assuming we are heading to the Tellico Plains side...I suggest we plan a convoy up Trail 1 and through vs. driving around.

Roflmao

There ya go...straight from our Dean of Education. Permission granted by my Boss. Thanks, Dean Capt'n! :grinpimp:

ps: Does this also get me some ethics credits? I'm an hour short on those.
I assume trail etiquette, which is normally discussed, would quailfy.

Unfortunately, the Dean of Ethics, the Master Scoundrel and N'er-do-Well, the most Ethical person I have ever met, Barry, will be off giving one of his educatinal seminars in Mexico during MLK, so no, ethics credits will not be available....
