Now… for the real reason this has been taking so long… My dad and I have been talking all winter about building a new “bunk house” at the cabin. You have seen our log cabin and it is pretty small.. this building will not be huge either.. only 16’x16’ but big enough to have 2 small bedrooms and a living room….. these pics don’t take you up to date but they are all I have right now… more to come…

well you did put a 2k+ vehicle in there... one of those things it is better to over build than under build.

the log siding buckhouse project looks great---
will be a nice place to sleep and nap this fall!!!!!\
the 1/2 door project---looks like it is well on it's way--( plus they fit a 1974--best :D) year made)
keep us updated on both!!!!

How are those doors coming?

Doors done minus paint. Cabin is done minus some siding. I want to paint bumpers and sliders this spring also. No painting in winter i dont feel good about it until our weather is better. I can heat paint shed but fan pulls out all heat.

Also i really want to do something with my seats. At first just wanted to recover these. Not sure now... need to look at my options. I want to keep seats that bolt into factory mounts so.. doing some thinking..

Post up some pics tomorrow

Find something you like and we can make it work with the factory mounts.

My problem is i dont know what i want. I want to keep it stockish look.. but i really think heated would be cool.. i like the newer late model lc seat look.. i just dont know.. plus i dont want to spend a bunch of $$.. so really i am all over the board on this one.. my guess is i won't make a decision and ill run these another year.. guess not the end of the world

pics as promised...

cabin first.

outside- more is done than this but this is last pic I have.
inside- all the missing trim you see in pics is also done.

The doors came out nice. Got to head over to Teds place to get the handles/ plates blasted. Ted is secretly hanging out with this new chick…. So he is “always busy” hopefully she will break up with him before spring so I can get over there and get that hardware blasted and ready for paint. Miss you ted… :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::D:D:D:D

How did you do the tops of the doors? Just a strip of 16ga carefully butt-welded, or a piece of metal folded to drop down inside the doorshell?

one piece of metal welded. at first I wanted to do the folded thing. but when I started trying to bend stuff, I got frustrated, and stopped trying. This way was fine, just took a long time. but I had plenty of Whiskey on hand. :D
