It has been a number of years since I have been out to Steve' place, but I had a chance to get in front of this 45 when I was last there. This is the nicest LWB 45 that I have ever seen. I have owned a couple, passed on many, but this was always the benchmark.

Awesome that it has emerged from it's climate controlled resting spot.

Cant wait to see more.

Dave

Spent some time down at Steve’s place and we put an engine out of a fj40 into his 45 pick up. He is in the process of getting that all fixed up and on the road a gain. Probably lots more pics to come. Going to be an ongoing project for a while I think.
:D

Dunno how Erin fared, but Steve and I got Lei'd minutes after landing. Really. No s***.;)

Was down at Poser place all weekend… got lots of project crossed off the list… nothing too exciting, just regular stuff. Plans are to bring my truck down there next month some time to get a bunch of stuff I want to do but never take the time. So we will see if that actually happens.

When I was down there I picked up a few hard doors to make into half doors as it is something I have always wanted to do…. They look like they are in rough shape but actually they are very sold. Lots of holes to fill but that would be on any doors you would get. So I am not too worried about it.

Not going to be getting these done over night but they will be done by summers end… last night I just got them pulled apart.

More to come….

good pic's of HI===
those half doors will be nice !!!!!

i finally got a hard top and doors for my 1974 ( best year made as per A.Peterson;-))

So we made it down to steves shop this weekend to do a bunch of stuff to my truck. For one the intake/exhaust gasket was leaking. The main thing I wanted to do was to change my cam gear because it was/ has been making a wining noise since the engine was rebuilt. The engine builder put in and aftermarket cam gear in there. Anyway after I saw the thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/563170-how-not-build-2f.html

I decided it was time to get this thing out. I don’t have a press in my shop so I knew I would have to either bring this thing down to steve or figure out a solution. In the end it was just better to bring it down there. There is always s*** that comes up that you don’t plan for and with my cursed engine, I knew surprises are there.

Well when we took out the cam it was pretty evident what was making all the noise. I don’t think you will be able to see much from my pics but the gear is shot, as is the crank gear. A closer in section of the cam…. Yup that is shot also…………….. at this point you can tell the kind of day I am having. Lucky for me Steve has a new one sitting there. So we are not dead in the water.

i know when i but a new Toyota exhaust gasket on my 1974 ==it sounded like a new truck!!!! ;-)

what kind of muffler are you putting on it????

I will just bring the pipe to the exhaust guy and tell him to put on a new one... nothing special just tell him I want the one that is the quietest they have

Well I wanted to let you all know that I am still alive and still working on my doors  well somewhat. I had to buy a new gun for my welder as my welder is old enough that it used the old style press in tips… well I finally used my last one and they were not available anymore so… anyway… did not get going on this project as fast as I could based on that fact. Any how I got the doors cut down and most stuff welded in. still final grinding and a lot of body work to get done.
