I also called Poser last night for some help removing my axels (which was straight forward but sometimes guess I need a little confidence in talking to someone who knows what they are doing! THANKS POSER!)

I need to take the axels out because I am brining them down with me when I go to see Poser again… I am hoping on making it down there this weekend to pick up my stuff… but Poser has been crazy busy with other peoples projects also (think everyone feels summer around the corner!) so not sure if it will work…. I should know in a day or two if I am heading down there. Here are the pics!!!

I replaced my bolts too with standard grade 8 bolts. I didn't retap the threads, on the perch I just molleyed them out to accomidate a 1/4 bolt and used a locking nut on the end.

You might want to consider the same, if not, I'd definetly replace the bolts you used with a stronger bolt; JMHO.

Best,

Friday I got the rest of the trans./transfer case cleaned and painted.... I started putting the new parking brake together and I called Poser with a question on saturday morning... seems I dont have all the parts I need so I just put it all in a bag and will bring it down next time I go see him to finish it up....

here are the pics of the finished Trans./transfer case....
Hey - I am behind and doing ketchup. What did you use to paint the transmission and then clean up the aluminum on the transfer case? It really looks good.

same stuff I used to paint the engine... even though it does not need to be high temp paint, I had it so I used it..

What brand paint is it?

I know you bought a sprayer and all but are you using rattle cans for the other stuff?

And you are having no problems coating the aluminum parts with what you are using I see. Are you using the same primer for those pieces as the steel?

Brand is "PlastiKote" I also bought a different brand and think they are about the same... I just got it at the parts store (NAPA) it is high temp paint good for 600 degrees F. The black parts you see on my engine are the same brand paint but in black... and yes all of that stuff is just spayed out of a can... I also used spray cans (not high temp) to paint my pedals that you see.... I will not do that again... paint does not hold up as well as Urethane out of the gun.... but what is done now is done...

as far as coating them I am just cleaning it up as well as I can... scrub it if needed... had to lightly sand some areas. Make sure all the grease is off... I am not putting a primer on it at all... just painted over the bare alum. I put a high temp clear coat over the valve cover and engine but nothing else...

Hope this helps... PM me if not...

Got some done this weekend…. I have been sick lately so things are going slow… I did not make it down to see Poser… I has been raining here the last week and we have to get those brakes off the 60 and it is out side and since I have been sick the last thing I need to be doing is hanging out in the rain… I did not get to go to my grandparents place for breakfast on Saturday based on the fact that I did not want to pass this on to them also…

So I did get an early start on Saturday (probably about 9) I got things ready to fabricate that bracket for my alternator…. I also ran back and forth to the parts store in town and got some belts… took me three tries to get ones that will work…

Then my dads friend helped me weld…(got to learn how to do this myself… in my new shop for sure) ended up hanging out with those guys for most of the rest of the afternoon, working on ideas for the shop and basically shooting the s***… It was a good time… Thanks for your help Rudy… Him and his son have a little business going and are into all kinds of Junk!!! :D :flipoff2: Here is a little plug to there site… lots of interesting things… www.rufusranch.com check it out if you got some time…. Guarantee you will see something you never have before!!!

Here are some pics of the alt. Bracket and belts…

Sunday I got a really slow start…. Probably about 1 PM or so (damn cold is kicking my ass!)….. put the radiator and supports in… I also started putting my wiring harness in…. Cleaned that all up and started putting it in… I originally wanted to bring this down and have Poser help me fix that rear half… Basically the tail lights I bought will not work because the plugs are gone on the harness… If anyone has some PM!!!!!!!!!!! Or I am going to get some other kind of plugs to use… should not be too difficult… just did not want to do it by myself… but I wanted to get it done and started so off I went… I am sure I will be able to figure it all out…

Had to run the cherry picker back to the guys I borrowed it from and hung out in there shop the rest of the afternoon… They are building there race cars for the season… had to put in a chevy small block that just dino at 672HP!!!! Should haul the mail!!!

some pics as always!

I wondered about that.... :D tryied to look it up in the FSM and found nothing... so the metal part where the screws go in faces out ward?

The fan blades are curved to produce lift, like an airplane wing. They are curving the wrong way now. Look at the fan on whatever vehicle is in the driveway and the curvature (camber is the correct term) will be visible.

Thanks Jim.... I will change it!!! I have to pull that radiator out again anyway....

ok so now know I said I was done for today... but I just wanted to share my plans for my garage that my dad drew me... I know we have changed the height of the door since we drew the pic… Also probably the whole building height if possible… I just got a lead on a used hoist from a auto shop that went out of business $1200 bucks for a two post… Think I may get it… but I have to make sure the city will allow me to put the building high enough so it will fit… probably 14 feet…
