tomorrow, put slider in you cart, apply the discount code, see estimated shipping.... that is the most you will pay. as people order the discount goes up and people are refunded the difference. By all accounts, you COULD get a $100 shipping credit and an addtional 60-70 off.

I'm in for the powdercoated sliders. Also if anyone wants to combine shipping to Atlanta i have a commercial dock we can ship it to.

If you want these in time for the colorado thing you better bet one of the first to order, i think they have a limited amount in stock.
 
Guys - spoke with MetalTech again today.

2 important things:

1) THE GOOD NEWS:
they re-confirmed that this is a cumulative group buy, not vehicle specific - so 100's, 200's, 4runners, FJs, GX's sliders & front / rear bumpers, etc purchases count towards the goal of "50"

It is extremely likely 50 orders will be met so i am counting on 20% off and a $100 shipping credit!!! (~$235 savings for raw)


2) THE BAD NEWS!!!:
they can NOT / will NOT ship UPS even if done so in the past regardless of raw or powder coated.

*If someone wants to call and ask again about UPS shipping please do! And report back.



My only concern is that 50 orders may slow their production - not sure what that means for delivery timeline.

Any other updates out there ??
 
Thanks for the extra info @bozncsurf I'm definetly in and feeling the confidence of 50+ being an easy goal to hit.

I spoke to John a bit about production time and stock this is what he said:

No way to know what the turn around is going to be.
Based on orders we will ship what we have and then turn around will depend on the number of orders. We don't make one at a time like some other shops; we try to do runs of orders.
Typically we might do a run of ten 100 series sliders and the production could take 3 weeks for raw and 5 weeks for powder coat. If we need to do a run of 25 or 30 the guys can only weld so fast. So, unfortunately, there will be some waiting. (Don't expect anything for 100s in the hills). Hopefully, the price will offset the wait.

Cliff notes: you could be waiting a month or so but you are getting a great discount and the mass produce their sliders, not one at a time like other shops.

You might never have an issue or you might have an issue down the road as sliders edge their way up the frame rails. I don't really keep track of the cases but there are more than a few. Here's the latest one I can remember...

I placed my order for the OPOR raw sliders tonight. $924.81 including shipping to a residence. Like most April's I am waiting for a refund of some mystery amount. Come on 20% + $100 shipping credit!!! That will put it at $689.82 and leave $10.18 for a couple cans of Rustoleum :)

Anyone else getting an invalid coupon message? I tried GROUPBUY18 and groupbuy18 at checkout and neither are working.

It seems like they will be losing a lot of business from people on the other side of the country with how expensive freight is.

Here is what they said in their email today:

  • Simply place your order online during the sale period for any of our Metal-Tech 4x4 or OPOR bumpers and sliders
  • Upon checkout use the code "GROUPBUY18" to get your first tier discount
  • Orders will ship right away depending on available inventory
  • As the discount tiers increase so will your discount
  • When the sale ends we will then issue refunds for the difference
  • Shipping credit is only valid once per household and may not be combined with other orders.
