Maybe I should have them delivered to Silverton. I would certainly have lots of help installing them.
You may be able to find someone from the Portland area that's going to HIH that would be willing to transport these for folks interested in saving. I'm not going to HIH but it's just a thought.

Where on the website do you specify short (with mudflaps) or long (without mudflaps)?

For those getting the raw sliders, how do you plan on painting them? I've seen some powder issues with their sliders in the past.

Is the only difference between the $834.95 "Metal Tech 100 series" sliders and the "OPOR 100 series sliders" the paint?

I'm getting them raw and taking them to arizona powdercoaters who are the best powdercoaters in the valley... i would choose a similar reputable shop or just rattle can them.

I believe you are correct, the difference being a "finished" product.

IMO, and from personal experience, you really don’t want to powder coat sliders. If anyone wants to see why, I can go take pictures of the ones on my 4runner that are being eaten by rust. As these things are first line of defense for your truck, they are likely to get dinged up or blasted with salt/sand over the years.
There isn’t a powder coat out there that will withstand it forever.

My sliders are welded on, and you can’t powder coat them on the truck. Ill be going with the rust prevention and paint route. That way I can always touch them up on my own without removing them from the truck. You can always add grip tape if you want added friction.

as far as toughness and durability: powder coat>regualr paint
once you scrape through, probably best to do a touch up with a rattle can if you have paint or powder coat.

glad I live in Arizona where rust isn't much of a concern.

FYI this bumper took a 45 mph impact and was barely scratched.
powder coat FTW

Had a nice conversation with MetalTech today - customer service has always been great for me.

Below is a picture of how they ship. You can go to there website, add the item to your cart, and then estimate shipping.

Any guess on what the angle / degree is on these? Need a step as well for the fam.

Also, any noticeable lift height loss after install? Driving differences?

I've got an angle finder I will slap on tomorrow and get a pic for you. Unless @ncavi10 want's to take a pic of his sliders with the yellow magnetic angle finder that is on the bender in the garage ;)

We use them as steps, but they are tucked up pretty close, so they are still a big step up from the ground. A step? yes. The best step? No. A good excuse to sell the idea to the SO? YES :)

I didn't notice any change in height, if your front end sits lower you can always crank the tbars a bit after install. I ran them on my truck with ome mediums and didn't notice any issues. I now have OME heavies with my slee rear. I didn't notice any real changes to driving after install.

During my conversation I asked a few questions (nothing ground breaking) that may help others:

Q: Are there different lengths or angles being offered?

A: No, we now only fabricate one length and one angle (15 degrees confirmed by @Somebodyelse5 )

Q: How do they mount / what grade is the hardware?

A: U bolts, Grade 5

Q: Are they good as steps?

A: Yes, easy step for all 4 doors - as mentioned by @geanes grip would be a good idea. See @Somebodyelse5 post above

Q: Will you ship UPS?

A: No, freight only due to size, weight, care of handling. (See pic above).

Q: Will they be available for HIH?

A: Hard to tell how many people will order, always based on inventory, we have 3 in-house welders.

Q: Will lots of GX orders slow down production of 100 sliders?

A: Should not, we have a higher inventory of GX sliders.

Q: If 14 people order sliders what discount will be given?

A: 10% must have 15-19 orders for 15%, etc and so on.

If you plan to use them as sliders, common practice is to rattle can them with a good primer and a good enamel that is easily matched. Powdercoat is hard to match with a rattle can and the way it chips can let moisture in (not really a huge deal here in AZ). That said, I rattle canned mine and they look great and are easy to touch up :)

Raymond at MetalTech shipped my OPOR sliders (raw steel) UPS and it was MUCH cheaper. He did two sets this way for me (one set for @ncavi10). Shipping to AZ was ~$140 for each set. They came with the edges wrapped in clear stretchy tape with a shipping label slapped on. The UPS guy couldn't figure out wtf they were!

I just tried to use the GROUPBUY18 code for raw 100's, but it said it's invalid. What gives? I want these things! Now! ;)
